Carenado Aircraft (C90B King Air)

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have a Problem with this Aircraft. When i fly with this Aircraft in the default Scenery my Frames are good, but When I Flyer into a payware Scenery my Frames aren't good. With every other aircraft i fly, i have good Frames, in Payware scenerys, too.

Can I get a better Performance When I change values in the aircraft.cfg?

I doubt that any changes to the aircraft.cfg file are going to have any impact on framerates.

Some of the liveries are 32-bit which can be heavy on frame rates.

Opening these textures in a programme like DXTBmp, and saving as DXT3 might make a difference.

You can recognise which to choose by their file size: 4,097 kB

After conversion they should be 1,025 kB

With what program I try to convert the textures to DXTbmp?

I have even bigger problems with the Carenado B200.

Thank you.

Before you get into this, I'd maybe look at graphics settings.

If you use something like nVidia's Inspector to set the graphics, there are many options to improve performance (at a slight cost in quality of course)

Thank you.
I will download and run some tests,

I have the same aircraft and its the only plane I have from carenado that has frame rate issues. This is because my computer isn't very good, if you have a lower powered computer it is something you will just have to deal with, my frame rate can drop as low as 6 fps around nicer scenerys but usually stays above 10-13 fps.

Which pc do you have

Its a Toshiba satellite C855D-S5205 and its only about year old so its more powerful than a lot of fs9 users really old pc's even though it was one of the cheapest laptops at BestBuy, it seems like the main reason people stick with fs9 is because they can't afford a new pc. Anyways It has got an AMD Vision E2 processor, 4gb of ram and the graphics card is an AMD Raedon Hd 6320 with 384mb of memory.

See what happens if you leave the Avidyne turned off and report back your findings.  Some other users have reported the C90's Avidyne instrument kills the frame rates on their system.  I don't seem to have that issue on my computer but it is an issue reported by others and so is worth checking out.

The Avidyne gps is not available with the fs9 version, carenado never converted the gauge to be compatible with fs9 so they replaced it with a garmin 530 instead. (I'm not sure why because the avidyne looked like a great gps)

Ah!  Didn't know that.  So there is a Carenado-supplied 530 and 430 both?  He still might try leaving them off and see what happens to frame rates.  Then alternate using one then the other.  Its likely the particular model and his system, but worth checking to see if either of those GPS units is a drain in that model.  I have the FSX version and I use an RXP 430 and the Avidyne without issues.

Yes they supplied both the 530 and 430, but they are very simple gauges and are not any different than the default fs9 gps except for the radio function, I would only think that realityXP's 530 would have any chance of causing frame rate issues, but I could be wrong. Though I would not think turning off the gps would be worth it, because it would force you use vfr navigation or use nbd's and vor's for navigation when gps's are a lot easier to use. I guess if it helps the gps could be turned off for landings unless he really likes to use gps approaches, but I personally use approach plates most of the time so it could help me out I guess. I will go and fly it real quick and see if it makes any difference. (:

Fully agree with you.  Only suggesting what I did to experiment to see if either GPS (or both) influence his frame rates.  More interested in what happens with the 530 as it is in the same panel position as the Avidyne is in the FSX version.  Just a check to see.  You never know until you check......
