April 24, 201412 yr Author Well that's definitely one way to get yourself fired in the real world! How?
April 24, 201412 yr You want to make a soft, but firm landing. Trying to grease it just results in floating over the runway longer and eats up the runway space you have available. Also, if you don't hit the runway hard enough, the spoilers that you armed may not detect your touchdown and might not deploy automatically. April 24, 201412 yr Commercial Member Oh ok. Well the landing is much better than plenty of youtube video's so well done If you do want to perfect your technique - Don't aim for greasers, aim for the touch down zone, don't float and use up runway. Rob Prest
April 25, 201412 yr I was going to say what's already been said, On the video description you said "Wow my best landing", and I'm sure you've done better than that. You've landed on the right side of the centerline and too far down the runway. A nice soft touchdown is okay, but you want to "bring the aircraft down", don't float excessively. I'm quoting from the FCTM by Boeing: Do not allow the airplane to float; fly the airplane onto the runway. Do not attempt to extend the flare by increasing pitch attitude in an attempt to achieve a perfectly smooth touchdown. Do not attempt to hold the nose wheel off the runway.
