All, thanks for the clarification on what's permissible and what isn't. As a rare visitor to P3D forum all of this was over my head!

But having seen the 3 versions I know which I'll go for ... eventually.

Ed, I'm none the wiser about what shubbery is. Must be a Yank thing!

Ray, it's actually a Brit thing.  From the "Knights who say Ni" bit in "Monty Python and the Holy Grail".

:LMAO: I'm aware of MPATHG but had completely forgotten about that sketch. 1 minute into this makes everything clear!

Ironically, that is blocked in the U.S. for viewing. LOL

I had thought of demanding you send us a proper order of fish and chips (really, can't get proper anywhere but in the U.K.) but realized they might be a wee bit green before they actually arrived so opted for something that's supposed to be green.

Pity but that's because you don't pay the Licence Fee.

You need to eat them straight out of the fryer and wrapped in newspaper, not a plastic carton because of H&S rules. Nice to know we still have some food the rest of the world likes.

Double fish and chips with salt and vinegar... then off to the pub for a pint. I agree with the paper, it's part of the flavor I think. LOL

I miss those days... LOL

Ex-pat or when you visited us? Hasn't anyone opened a fish 'n chip shop in the US? Just the novelty factor would have them queueing up!

From my time in the U.S. Navy... in the submarine service doing stints out of Holy Loch near Dunoon, Scotland. Long, long ago.

Fish and Chips has to be served in yesterday's newspaper or it's not the real thing ... but didn't England institute a ban on that method of serving fish and chips?

Cheers, Rob.

I miss those days

Hear, hear. I used to keep my hands warm on cold wintry nights in Camden Town late 60s holding a paperful of chips wrapped in newsprint paper.

Jim. We need the equivalent of Mr MacDonald to set up a chain of outlets!

Rob, probably a health & safety rule that came from 'Brussels' aka the European Union.
