May 24, 201412 yr When selecting some airports I get a long pause, about 15-20 seconds, before it loads back to the menu where I can click fly now. This does not happen with most airports. Does anyone have an idea what it might be causing it?
May 24, 201412 yr I too have had this problem, but it's happened so much, I've gotten used to it. It would help to know what is causing it and if there is a solution. May 24, 201412 yr I always have assumed that this is caused by add-ons. I know the more add-ons I have active, the longer the wait before FSX returns to being responsive. - Bill Magann
May 24, 201412 yr I have that too, but if I look at the size of my FSX install and the number of entries in my scenery.cfg, it doesn't make me wonder anymore. ;-) 20 seconds can be spent waiting, there is always something to do when you set up flight, like checking the weather, the charts for the departure, etc.
May 24, 201412 yr morning. in your fsx.cfg, under the main section add the follwing line disablepreload=1 that will solve the issue, its a common one that.
May 24, 201412 yr If I think it's add-on related (which it is in my case) - I just disable all my add-ons and see if that cures it (which it does).
