June 27, 201411 yr "How do i change the ATC sound output from my speakers to my headset?" I suspect you could use a couple of programs to achieve what I think you want to do (or at least give you a lot of flexibility in routing your audio).: Voicemeeter: http://vb-audio.pagesperso-orange.fr/Voicemeeter/ I personally use Voicemeeter. A little tricky to setup but works well. It is free but does ask for a donation. Works great and very worth the donation. Basically, you install Voicemeeter, select it as the default audio, then select outputs such as the speakers and a headset. In my case I use Voicemeeter as the default sound then output to my Logitech Wireless headset (H800) AND to the normal Realtek speaker output at the same time. Works great. VAC: http://software.muzychenko.net/eng/vac.htm Not free, $ 30.00, if I remember correctly. I also have VAC but found it much more difficult to setup/maintain than Voicemeeter.
July 1, 201411 yr Just purchased/registered and downloaded the latest version (1.2). I wanted to get it before the price went up the end of this week. I find this to be very well done software. Love the maps, ease of use etc. Very well written manual. Use of a second monitor is almost mandatory for this application, there are a lot of buttons, map displays, chart displays, radio displays etc. on the screen and running it over your sim on the same screen makes it difficult to deal with things. I am pressed for time this week due to a major illness in the family so won't have much time with it for now. I tried it briefly with P3D V2.2 and XP10. It connected very quickly. I have not tried out the voice recognition yet, maybe next week. It looks good and well worth the introductory price.
July 1, 201411 yr A shame I won't get a chance to try it before the price increase. Perhaps there will be a sale later on at some point. I see still very little feedback on airliner use, so maybe it's best to wait a while anyway and see how it evolves? For those who know VoxATC, I would like to see a more minimalist interface within XP like that with a phrase prompt displayed etc. as I don't have a second monitor.
July 1, 201411 yr Commercial Member Chris, In addition to some minor enhancements in Radio Operation the three big new things in 1.2 are an expanded Database Maintenance capability, more control over voices for each controller, and most useful, I think, the ability to bring up the Internet in the Chart window. This last one lets you access and store links to any chart you have access to on the web. So if you're outside the US, you can still get to your favorite Airport Diagrams, SIDS, STARS, Approach plates, etc. and save them for future use. And of course, it fixes some bugs. Thanks and Enjoy Dave Dave, Adding a "Voice Only" Interface to take up less real estate is a good idea. I'm putting it on the enhancements list. Thanks, Dave
July 2, 201411 yr I have VoxATC and have been trying pilot2ATC on airline flights in FSX. Voice recognition is hit and miss. FS2Crew and VoxATC work find but I keep having to repeat myself in Pilot2ATC. What is great about it is that you can start it mid-flight and it picks up at the correct stage. The interface is a lot more friendly in VoxATC. Do I need to request descent and approach or will ATC call me up? Improvements to beat anything out there: 1/ Also easier support for networked setups will be a great addition. 2/ A scenery db updater like in Avialosft EFB or makerunways.exe. 3/ Nav data updates with Navigraph or Aerosoft.
July 2, 201411 yr Commercial Member Thanks for the feedback Chris. As we get more feedback and adjust our recognition grammar, the voice experience should improve. We've had a lot of feedback in the few weeks it's been out in the wild and improvements are pending at all times. Most of the items on your wish list are on our future enhancements list. The one about getting descent is one that you can configure by making the approach radius match your TOD distance from the destination. I do plan on improving this experience to provide a more realistic multi-step descent starting with the ATC Center controller and continuing with Approach control. Thanks again for the feedback. It all helps move us closer to the goal of being the best out there! Dave
July 3, 201411 yr Thanks for making this product, the more competition the better :) When doing an approach request when tuned to an ATC Center, do I need to specify a runway or will ATC assign me one.
July 3, 201411 yr Commercial Member You should be assigned the active runway when you contact approach control. It will be the ILS runway aligned best with the real weather wind direction when flying IFR. As I begin integrating more into the AI traffic, this will likely change to be the SIM assigned active runway for the arrival airport. Flying VFR, tower or approach control can let you know what the active runway is. Thanks, Dave
July 3, 201411 yr Hello, I'm just to begin testing Pilot2Atc and.....Whoa !! It is very impressive. The few I "play" with it, it seems flexible and friendly. The support seems great. Anyway, all conditions seem necessary for me to buy Pilot2Atc before the fifteen day trial and before the date of 07/06 probably  So, is it possible at this time to add an airport in the database (for exemple from a dump file with the Fsx sdk) ? July 4, 201411 yr Commercial Member Richard, Thanks for trying Pilot2ATC. There is the ability to edit airports and even add ILSs. Adding Airports and Runways is not currently a feature because of all the details needed to do it correctly. The biggest inhibitor is entering the taxiways, parking and boundaries manually. At some point in the future, I can envision adding this capability, but for now, it is not possible. Hope you continue to enjoy the flying. Dave
