June 25, 201411 yr Commercial Member Version 1.1 is up on the website now! It adds the ability to edit the Pilot2ATC database so you can add missing VORs, NDBs and Named Intersections. Also lets you edit Airports, including controllers, and also lets you edit, add and delete ILSs. So if you find that Pilot2ATC isn't aware of a nav-aid or has some bad info about an ILS, you can fix it on the spot. Check out the new user's guide that describes this new capability in detail. www.pilot2atc.com/download Enjoy, Dave
June 25, 201411 yr Dave, this is great news! I've been watching the tutorials, and was really impressed by what has been achieved! Whow! Tell me, when used with XP10 or FSX, on a single PC, what sim "suffers" more from having it running ? Are both smooth, meaning there is no significant impact? One question regarding Europe: What are the main limitations right now, of using Pilto2ATC for european flights? Around here ( IMO stupidly, I should add ) no one adhered to the excellent decision the USA took regarding the use of 18000' / FL180 as trans alt / level.... with each airport sometimes having, even in the same country, different limits... and many other aspects... ? P.S.: I would like to suggest an investigation of possible integration of this ATC robot with the about to be released Aerowinx PSX. While PSX, just like PS1, have their own integrated ATC robots, giving it's users the possibility of using it with Pilot2ATC would probably be welcomed :-) Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)
June 25, 201411 yr Wow amazing, hopefully not another proATCX :P Does it control traffic? Would it be possible to add a random selection to ATC voices? I also second possible integration with PSX :im Not Worthy:
June 25, 201411 yr Commercial Member jComm, Thanks for the comments and suggestion about PSX. I'll have to look into that. As for frame rates, I fly on several different computers using P3D, XP 10 and FSX and only notice a degradation on my older tablet that just doesn't have the horsepower. You can configure the transition altitude to whatever your locale requires. The default is set at 18000 for FL 180, but you can set it differently. Now that it's been in the wild for a few weeks, many of the anomalies of Europe and other countries have surfaced and been addressed, but I'm sure there'll be more. I encourage everyone to let me know if you run into problems. I will turn around a fix as rapidly as possible. Thanks again. Dave Christopher, Not another ProATCX. You can set voices for each of the controllers. Having random voices is a good idea for those that have many voices installed. I just added it to the enhancements list. It is not aware of AI traffic yet. That's on the roadmap for future versions, but I am focused on getting the bugs ironed out on current function and adding the quick hitter improvements right now. Thanks for your comments and hope you give it a try. Dave
June 26, 201411 yr Commercial Member Vincent, Do you mean like FSX? Could you give more details on your idea? Thanks Dave
June 26, 201411 yr I am having some trouble with the radio freq. When connecting, entering a flight plan and filing it. No radio frqs display, just dash lines. However the voice and response from ATC work fine.
June 26, 201411 yr Commercial Member Christopher, There are many reasons you might not have frequencies showing up. Here are some of them: 1) Pilot2ATC is not connected to the Sim 2) The Master Battery and/or Master Avionics Switch are off 3) the frequencies you have selected don't have controllers within range associated with them. Generally, in range is 25 miles when on the ground or 100 miles in the air. You say the voice and response work fine, so that may not be the case. You can try selecting a controller type in the Nearby Com Channel window and see if that produces a frequency. If that doesn't work, send me a screen shot to [email protected] when you have no frequencies showing but have had a successful interaction with a controller and I should be able to figure out what's going on. Thanks for trying it out. Dave
June 26, 201411 yr Just another few questions: are you looking to add nav database support from Navigraph and Aerosoft? How do i change the ATC sound output from my speakers to my headset?
June 26, 201411 yr Author Vincent, Do you mean like FSX? Could you give more details on your idea? Thanks Dave Not everyone wants Voice controlled ATC. Some form of menu acknowledgement. ala FSX/RC4.
June 26, 201411 yr Commercial Member Thanks for the clarification Vincent. I had not initially thought of that, but I can see the potential for it at some point. Thanks for the idea. I'll put it on my roadmap list. Dave Chris, I haven't yet considered other data sources, but longer term it could make sense as an option for those who subscribe to those sources anyway. It would be something in the future. On the Speakers/Headset issue, Pilot2ATC uses the default listening/recording devices. That would be a Windows setting. You'll find it in ControlPanel - Sound. Just set the Default Listening device to your headset instead of your speakers. Dave

I think he means a separate sound output option within Pilot2Atc so the voices come through the headset and the main sim through the speakers, like VoxAtc or FS2Crew. Yes that is what I meant. In FSX I have the voice setting as my headset but that does not seem to make a difference to Pilot2ATC.
June 27, 201411 yr Commercial Member Chris, Pilot2ATC does not know what sound settings other programs have. It only listens to the Windows default output device at the moment. To have FSX and Pilot2ATC listen on the same device would require that FSX be set to the default sound output device along with Pilot2ATC. Hope this clarifies. Dave
