I don't like the a36 all too well, even though I ######ed at Dan to get it ported to x64 lol!

 

The Aspen is a PITA to operate with minuscule clickspots.

 

I do like the C90 though.... Some people also have the new GPS working in the king air 200 VC.

 

Otherwise I love the LES Saab - I fly it as GA under a N number. Good flying characteristics.

ryan, king air 200? Is that by Carenado? Were they able to incorporate the new xplane gps into the virtual cockpit? If so, I may have to check it out. 

I think people "dislike" it because it is the kind of post that kicks off an FSX vs Xplane rant. No-one is bound to like one sim or another, that is true, but anyone with any time in the forums knows that this will only lead to degeneration of an otherwise fine discussion.

Quite understand and respect your opinion old chap, I can see why some might take my post the wrong way - no flame war intended.

Truth is, I'm a big XP fan and never far from these forums.

I still believe it is the future, but it can be frustrating hence why I sometimes revert to the "dark side".

Just to prove it I shall fly a VA flight tomorrow with the JarDesign A320 and keep the old fingers crossed that all goes well (last flight I took with it, it was very reluctant to leave the ground).

Have to say b2 is quite encouraging, and am looking forward to Ben removing the vaseline from the horizon.

Based on what I've seen, there is a wide variation of the way this works in the various aircraft that I fly. A lot of it depends on the developers choice. And that was the same in FSX. There were some FSX models that were terrible and never consistent about it even within the same aircraft. Sometimes it was click and drag, sometimes left mouse or right mouse button, sometimes mouse wheel. And the speed at which the values changes were sometimes horribly slow.

 

This is more a complaint for developers, and not the simulator.

Pretty sure those knobs are a standard fixture in XP. What I don't get is why the altitude knob goes up in denominations of 10ft rather than 100ft, which makes things even more fiddly when trying to dial in a round number!

Again, I've seen it increment by 10, 100 and 1000 depending on the aircraft. One aircraft let you choose between 100 and 1000 using a switch. The developer can control that. I've also experience one where you click and drag to change rapidly and then there was click spots for fine adjustments.

 

I guess the only scenario I can think of where you may need increments of 10 would be if you set your altitude to minimums for a approach where I often see numbers requiring this.

I have two installs on my PC... one for P3D 2.2 and one for XPX.  XPX is not the most ideal tubeliner sim  (that will change once the high altitude blurries are fixed) but at this point it is the only sim that I have which has long haul planes.  I use it primarily for my flights across the pond and enjoy the FF 777 and SSG 747. 

 

Hope the recent improvements and development  continue.

OK I got a 1/3rd of the way through my flight with the A320 Neo and received an Nvidia driver not responding error. D'oh!

Now re-flying it with the 777 - up she goes!
