it all goes pete tong once i get airborne and fly my sid

It all works very well here, I am sorry that you cannot get it working for you.

perhaps take some time out and revisit the program once you have a good read of the documentation.

It would seem that you are happiest making your plan in PFPX and then flying it without deviation in the NGX.

Probably best just to stay with that and forget about ATC for the moment, ATC cares little about the PFPX plan, its job is to get you safely through its airspace, what is in your plan or FMC does not matter as far as ATC is concerned.

When PFE said resume own navigation, it meant just that,  "carry on with your planned route of flight"

Had you begun climbing you would have been handed over to Center around 14000 ft and from there would have received further instructions.

mad dog its a great addon and really enjoying it i cant read anymore of that document i've nailed it enough times. just this atc is acting strange i done the flight again and everything worked. its just this sid thats confusing me i told the flight plan my SID ends at finik had an alt for 6000 and they cleared me to fl120 after 6000, now i thought they leave you alone to fly your sid? but they then further instructed me to climb to fl320 after fl120 and now im stuck at fl320 my cruising alt was 390 i have now gone past my TOD by 50 nm havent been handed over to another centre i really dont know whats going on

I can't begin climbing thought because i haven't been instructed too

ts just this sid thats confusing me i told the flight plan my SID ends at finik had an alt for 6000 and they cleared me to fl120 after 6000, now i thought they leave you alone to fly your sid?

But you had finished your SID at finik@FL060 and had been cleared to FL120, so PFE had left you alone to fly the SID but issued you with further instructions at the end waypoint of the SID to climb to FL120 and resume own navigation. that seems correct to me.

However at some point after being cleared to FL320 you should have been handed to Center as you passed trough FL140 or whatever altitude you have set for center in PF2000.

paste our flightplan as exported from your flightplanner before PFE converted it using the <> tool in this forums editor and I will fly it tommorow time permitting.

I haven't changed any settings in pf2000 only my cruising alt, name and flight no?

Thats where its going wrong not getting handed over...

Open it in Notepad, highlight all the text and copy.

In the menu bar of the forums message editor you will see an icon looking like <>

Click on it and a box will open up, follow the instructions to paste your text into the box

PFE will use the cruise altitude you have set in the PF2000 interface and also the Center altitude and distance to FAF if you have changed them , but of course you are free to edit the waypoint altitudes in PFE.

Hope i've done it right!

What settings do i have to change in pf2000 then?

I had pf2000 cruise alt fl390 pfe was showing fl410?

Any cruise altitude settings in PF200 can be overriden in PFE

Use the option to adjust Waypoint Altitudes after selecting the fpl (select new adv).

Ok no problem will just have to do it manually.

Is it normal for the PFE atis QNH be out by 1 because active sky is reporting lets say QNH 1015 PFE atis says QNH 1016?

Think you misunderstood they cleared me to fl120 during my sid because i reached 6000 before the last waypoint

Vernon Howells

Think you misunderstood they cleared me to fl120 during my sid because i reached 6000 before the last waypoint

Yes PFE would do that as you told it FL060 was the end of your DP

You could have used the option in the Adjust waypoints,SIDS and STARS page to set a waypoint as the the end of your DP, you would then have been left alone until that waypoint.

If you only set the SID in the  Sid's/Stars page PFE will assume your SID is complete once you reach the alt set there, in your case FL060.

from Section 7.2.25

Currently, if you setup a SID you set an altitude and PFE will assume your published departure
is complete once you reach that altitude or reach the first waypoint in your
flight plan (whichever occurs first) and at which point you are under ATC
control. Using the new Set END of SID/DP button, however, you may select
any waypoint in your flight plan to mark the end of your published departure.

Using this method will use the same altitude you may have set in the
SID/STAR page and will also turn on the global SID Active option if it is
currently off. Also, just like we do now, if you haven't set an altitude then PFE
will automatically assign one at the time you receive clearance.

Thats what i done i set finik as the last waypoint for my SID. I'm trying to set up my SID so i fly at 6000ft all the way to finik thats what am trying to say. I set 6000 ft and selected finik for the last waypoint.

Vernon Howells

Everything is working perfect like getting handed over on centre :)

But one problem atc still doesn't let me resume 6000 ft to the last waypoint ? Soon as i take off its not long till i hit 6000 and atc tells me to climb and i haven't even fin my SID?

Vernon Howells

Just continue flying the sid as published, PFE will not smack you in the chops for doing that. When exiting the sid, climb to FL that PFE assigned, and enjoy your flight.
