P3D v2.2 gives me an experience I am financially locked out of...

Featured Replies

Here I am, right now on pause halfway between 11S (Seiku) and CYSE (Squamish) at 9,500 feet in the Carenado SkyMaster 377 Turbo.  ASN is giving a fabulous and varied cloudscape today, which has me with my .cfg file as posted (and one addition, I clicked on Vegetation Shadows cast and receive)  happily flying along my flight plan at 22-34 FPS (really pronounced multi-layered cloud with good shadow play on terrain/mountains and its vegetation (wonderful!) and will eventually land at Squamish.

I then intend to 'BOB' (walk) over to our Sirocco GTX 2 Cabin Yacht, by DeltaSim, and then head out with my virtual wife, and our closest friends for a day and evening cruise aboard the 'Chasing The Dream'.

As far as mimicking what (if I won the PowerBall) life could be like if you had the ample coin to do it...it can be played out within my virtual world via P3D v2.2, and a good amount of imagination. My wife says that I come packed with plenty of that, as she rolls her eyes, passing the den...and a little chuckle to boot. Gawd..I love that woman!!!!!!

So, here I am...with P3D pumping out the 'taste' in fabulous graphical detail...my journey above...and soon to be, upon the water....

Life is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Good...even if you have to taste it through a sprig of virtual simulation.

Folks...I'm just so grateful that we even have the opportunity to virtually own the plane that is getting us there, and the yacht that will be taking us out into the fjord in about an hour or so...

We are all lucky (because each of us has this inherent passion, to play it all out upon a computer screen) to have this technology that a person who wanted to fly...did not have in even the 1920's.....they did not have the funds...and did not have P3D v2.2, Orbx, DeltaSim, and all the other supporting software I have purchased to bring on the 'dream' that sits in front of my eyes.......

As I said, Folks...Life is good....oh..so good.

Back to the SkyMaster, it doesn't like being suspended in pause mode,  over mountain ranges.....it would much prefer to keep flying towards CYSE!

Cheers!

Nice!... I like your posts Mitch, they are a breath of fresh air in the FS world, where there is way too much misery.

Keep it up, and keep having fun

Awesome story, Mitch. Now how's about some screenshots? Please, if you wouldn't mind. The lower mainland/Sunshine coast is my favourite flight sim play ground. It's simply breathtaking in real-life, too.

 Cheers, Jazz.

My posting site won't take the P3D shots...maybe somebody else can step in...and post a few of CYSE.

Ooops! I just asked again in your other post (about R22). No pressure, I so enjoy reading your posts. Inspires me to fire up P3D, and go fly.

Cheers, Jazz.

Great post as always Mitch

I don't know what is going on...I fired off a whole tad of Xplane three weeks ago...and they uploaded...same size...but now they won't accept. I think that they want me to go 'premium',lol

Thanks, Rich. If you find the 'right one', the years roll on...but the twinkle in the eyes stays bright throughout them all!

I'll check out that post. I've been hovering around twisting here and there....really bothering quite a few folks in Squamish....but hey...the Robinson makes for a quick get-a-way....

Just looked at that screenie. I have basically the same, but have found a -1.0000 on the LOD to be even sharper. :)
