Is the team of P3D developers just small?

I don't think this team is working solely on the flight sim. If that we're the case, this would be an entertainment product and not a training product.

P3D is still a ways from being a mature product as much as we'd like to think otherwise so that needs to be kept in mind as well.

I modified it to run as a turbo, and with the in-line props....it is such a rocket in turbo mode. Easy climb outs at 2,500 to 3,000 FPM.

Please don't take this the wrong way, because 1) the 337 is one of my favorite sim planes as well, and 2) If you're enjoying what you did then that's all that matters for you, but...

If you're getting 2,500 to 3,000 FPM climb rates then your turbo-conversion has somehow gone awry and into fantasy territory.  The 337 has neither the HP nor the aerodynamics to be a strong climber.  IRL both turbo and non-turbo 337's are still 210 HP/engine planes and are not rocket ships under any circumstances given their weight and configuration.  At sea level and standard conditions, performance will be very similar in each model with a very slight edge to the turbo-charged variant.

It's at altitude that the differences become significant, as is always the case for turbo-charged engines as compared to their normally aspirated versions of the same HP rating. While turbo-charging CAN be used to increase HP, that's not what's been done with the Continental TSIO-360 used in the 337 as compared to the IO-360.

Just sayin'... ^_^

Oh no he ain't! Mine is now nearly 3 years old, far less potent than Mitch's and I too see great visuals and performance with P3D 2.3...

Mike @ Carlos...

I'm at 2560 x 1600 on a Dell U3011 IPS 30" - and I'm getting beween 35 - 60 fps - and no stutters.

(i7 3770K @ 3.50 GHz with a GTX 680 2GB & 16GB 1600MHZ DDR3).

I'm running with Horizon's GenX UK photo real scenery. What a blast. Even with the SkySim Hawk at 400 kts I've got very few of those side view micro stutters that others have.

I feel the same as Mitch re this v 2.3 - and I've still got FSX installed, but I'm not using it much. I've never any problems with FSX on this machine, but I'm using P3D now almost exclusively.

Regards

If they wanted to get this done, they could get it done.

Just not realistic. That's like saying that a 100 billion dollar food company would have leverage with Nvidia. LM and Nv are just getting into bed together, so to speak but LM is NOT a developer whose products could have a positive impact on Nvidia sales....yet!

They (LM) *are* working with NV to come up with a solution but they (LM) have absolutely NO clout to get them (NV) to move faster - that has to come from us.

So if you are frustrated - do something about it - keep contacting NV and requesting action.

This is a dollar and cents business and, right now, LM doesn't have enough dollars and cents in this market to pressure NV.

I'm OK with the way things are. The more I fly P3D, the less I notice the micro stutters.

Unlimited, or locked at 60, with vsync on works well for me in most cases.

So, if it happens, fine. If it doesn't, that's fine too.
