VfrFlight - new free VFR flight planner

Featured Replies

Hi,

I know there is quite a lot real world pilots like me here, so I'd like to share with you my free VFR planner - VfrFlight. It took me about a year to develop this application and it's purpose is to help you with VFR planning.

Whatsmore, it has possibility to export created flight plan to FSX / P3D. You can freely drag waypoints all over the map, enter their GPS coords or just search in DB. Hence, it can be used by simmers as well to get "as real as it gets". You can create flight plan and prepare for flight in the same way that pilots are doing.

My intention is not to replace PlanG (it's more like free alternative to SkyDeamon or SkyVector). However you can use features that are not available in PlanG for VFR plan ie. landmarks / checkpoints on your route segments to check time in dead reckoning.

Screenshots and more information about features here:

Feel free to report me bugs and feature requests. I am happy to develop this project further!

Best regards,

Lukasz

P.S. I am not a native English speaker so I would love to get your help with any grammar and translation mistakes.

Do you still have problems? Do you get 503, or downloads won't start?

I was looking at the screen shots but there are no PDF docs available yet?

I will do some documentation soon. Probably this weekend.

Maybe I will create some short video tutorial for introduction to features.

At current moment you can load "example flight plan" at the beginning to see what could be done.

Yes saw that and I like the ruler function, very useful.

It wont let me import a plan from fsx though.

I've been thinking about that.

I will try to do video tutorial covering dead reckoning and flight planning with this tool for non pilots too.

Excellent work, a good blend of simplicity and functionality. Easy to use, and can be run on any PC, so the flight can be planned and the PDF printed off anywhere, ready for my flight when I fire up FSX.

Thanks
