Hi guys,

I have created documentation and it is available here:

http://vfrflight.org/en/documentation.html

Now, I am going to do some video tutorial for non pilots, as I promised.

I hope that this weekend I will do the first video.

And in next upcoming update I want to include W&B calculations, so it could be used with A2A C172/Cherokee.

I will let you know in this thread.

Looks fantastic. I too would appreciate a concise video tutorial.

Thanks for this generous contribution.

Below is link for video tutorial to cover basics of creating VFR flight plan and following it using dead reckoning.

With this tutorial you can learn how to perform VFR flight navigation just like real pilots .

Hope it helps,

Great VID Lukasz, makes the programme very easy to understand - looking forward to part 2...

Looks great! The most useful part are all these real world practices which are missing in all other VFR planing tools like Plan-G. Finally someone did it! Great work!

Is there any chance to import airspaces from FSX/P3D or any other worldwide source?

There are already 4 parts more. In total of ~31 minutes.

They cover flight planning + executing dead reckoning and following the route.

Yes, as soon as I get some free data I will use it.

When the number of FSX/P3D users will grow to some significant level I will do possibility to import data from FSX/P3D

Now I am focusing on missing things for real world flying.

Now I am focusing on missing things for real world flying.

What I'm missing are the frequencies for nearby VORs and ATIS. Would be very useful to see them in generated PDF. And the other thing are the published waypoints to be shown on map (but this seems to be the same problem as airspaces visualization).

As for worldwide free source of data... not sure if it could help, but take a look on this: http://www.aero.sors.fr/navaids3.html. This is a free update for FSX/P3D of real world data.

And small bug report when running VFRflight on Mac:

1. Window sizes are wrong. Dialogs are smaller than required. Here is screenshot: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/15957127/vfrflight%202014-10-09%20%D0%B2%202.32.59.png

2. Sending bug report from inside app doesn't work - "Error sending email" message when Send button was clicked.

3. Main VFRflight dialog is always on top of all other windows, which is wrong and inconvenient.

And the other one issue: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/15957127/vfrflight-weather-rep.png

Weather report is not shown. METAR/TAF was found and shown correctly.

Thanks for your feedback!

Including frequencies in PDF is a great idea, but currently I have no data of them.

However, as soon as I get worldwide data, I will include this idea  .

I am excited about this source, because it seems this is frequently updated real world data. This is great, thanks!

I have written mail to the author if I can integrate this.

I am aware of this Mac issue with windows. I will rework layouts.

ad.2

I will write PM to you to resolve this, so we won't discuss bug issues here.

ad.3

This is fixed and I will release updated version soon.

First chance I had to sit down and go through the set of tutorial vids and just want to say you did a very good job in instructing and good tips from a real world pilots point of view. I have an old printer that I haven't used for simmimg as Ive kept it all in a EFB but I will buy some ink for this.

EDIT

actually if you have a tablet you can write in the times with a stylus

Hi Zoran,

Thanks for your feedback. Currently, I am working on version 1.2 with main fuctionality of importing all FSX/P3D data into VfrFlight (airfields, navaids, ILS ...).

I managed to import world elevations data (SRTM), so you will be able to see safe altitutes above terrain. This will make VFR planning more easy :).

This is sounding great

Any chance of worldwide weather -

( perhaps from payware WX programs if no freeware data exists?)
