I find it to be excellent.

 

Im not sure buying a 4k screen at only 28 inches is the best solution. Surely 4k would be most beneficial in a screen at 40+ inches so you can sit closer to it?

Although I'm not expert, I suspect you'll have a hard time finding such a beast. HDMI carries some pretty complex anti-pirating protocols AFAIK which DP is not burdened with since it's not intended for consumer video (which I think is why people sometimes have inexplicable image quality issues with HDMI off their PC and why, even with HDMI 2, DP is still going to have better IQ due to no downgrading of chroma content). So at this time and probably always, DP is the preferred route for use as a monitor (esp. for 4K)... even though I'm currently using HDMI with very good results at 1080p.

The TV is bought has both DP and HDMI 2.0, it's just unfortunate that the graphics card is limited to DP.

 

So I figured the display is somewhat future proof, the Titans, not so much.

 

Still it is an amazing view, I haven't been flgiht simming as much lately, I am using mostly racing sims, and Assetto Corsa with a wide FOV (I have it at 3840 x 1440), and a ffb wheel is amazing.  DX 11 graphics and 60 fps steady with bloom, crepuscular rays etc... really breath taking.

Not sure the firmware update is relevant to me since it's my intention to use this as a PC Monitor exclusively, plus I'm not a Netflix subscriber. However, I certainly appreciate the value of this upgrade to others given the general lack of 4k content.

 

I can't wait until Nvidia supports stereoscopic 3D on a 4K TV / Monitor.

Indeed. I was just highlighting the fact 3D was possible at 4K. I'm just wondering whether such content exists yet though? I mean if they're struggling to fit a 2D film onto a blu-ray disc then how on earth are they going to fit 3D content on. I'm assuming 3D-4K content is a considerable amount of bandwidth along one cable?

3d was a fad imho...  Have it on 3 TV's in the house, never used it.  A good 4k is so immersive and offers so much depth I don't see myself ever putting on those glasses....

 

I got a 60 inch Panasonic, was so impressed I then replaced the 40 in my bedroom, now I just need to do the set upstairs as well.    40 inch Panasonic 4k's are $599 on sale right now!!
