November 25, 201411 yr Hello, I am kinda new to the flightism community and just recently bought the PMDG 737-800 NGX and love the aircraft. I dont like to be right up on the cockpit window so I go back as zoom out as far as FSX will let me go. (Dont know what decimal that is to be exact just got FSX couple weeks ago) So I loaded the PMDG 737 NGX and realized that the MCP labels, FMC buttons, and Overhead button were blurry untill I zoomed in on it. I saw some videos and it seems like they dont have this problem. So I was wondering if there was anyway to fix this. Thank you so much. Happy Holidays! Xplosion
November 25, 201411 yr To begin with, when you are in FSX, go to your Aircraft settings and make sure the 'High-resolution 3-D virtual cockpit' option is ticked (ON).

November 27, 201411 yr In Graphics Settings, make sure the Global Texture Resolution slider is all the way to the right (see this thread: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/348094-virtual-cockpit-textures-blurry/) Barry Friedman

If I zoomed all the way out nothing in the cockpit would be readable. Do you think pilots can clearly see every item in the cockpit without focusing on it? I use a zoom level of .8 to 1.0. If I want to see an instrument, MCP, switch, etc. which is not right in front me I use the mouse and spacebar to pan to what I want to see. Michael Cubine

So what zoom do you recommend I use if I want so be able to see the mcp and fly at the same time. Thanks so much for your help! Thank you so much for everyone that has helped. I hope you will all have a wonderful holiday season!
November 28, 201411 yr So what zoom do you recommend I use if I want so be able to see the mcp and fly at the same time. The B777 has a floating 2D MCP that I miss in the 737 but I have found it not too difficult to pan the view to manipulate ALT, VS and SPD controls during arrival. Zoom is probably around 0.80 although with my trackball it is really easy to zoom in/out. Dan Downs KCRP

For VFR there is no setting that will show a view straight ahead and the MCP without most items being blurry, For IFR .8 with the view panned to the right will show everything you need to see except for the far right part of the panel which includes V/S, 4 CMD buttons, and the FD switch for the First Officer. Maybe you need a program that provides various views in the cockpit like EZdock camera found here http://www.flight1.com/products.asp?product=ezdockcam. Don't ask me about because I have never used it nor even read about it. Michael Cubine
