I too am finding FSX DX10 with Steve's fixer a great boon to FSX, especially in the look and the VAS usage. Scandinavian, would you share your shadow and water settings for DX10 please?

The water shader is modified with FSWaterConfigurator and shadows with DX10SceneryFixer, here are my settings:

Nice work, Scandinavian!

Any reason why you prefer the Collins FMS over the Honeywell? Or were you just ticking with the default?

That shot on short final taken from the VC-Capt side is incredible.

Yes I am..I started to use SweetFx together with DX10  B)

I can see that! Your sim has a very realistic tone over it. Is it a common preset or your own very special?  B)

I tried to create custom presets but they all looked horrible.

These are phenomenal!

Can I ask what water textures you use?

Thanks a lot! When I installed it, I actually remembered why I uninstalled it lol. When I use it, everything becomes a bit grainy and jagged. So to solve it I need to push the SSGA anti aliasing shy high, which is very FPS consuming of course. But based on your pictures, it seems you have crystal clear quality. How high AA are you running?

I´m using 8x CSAA in DX10 Scenery Fixer and 4x Sparse Grid Supersampling in NI. I have a very stable and smooth FPS between 30-40 (Locked at 40 in NI and unlimited in FSX)

The shots are great, really. But one thing is puzzling me all the time... how you guys can stand this dark visuals with low brightess and strong contrast? I don't want to steal a thread in any way, just want to point that I always tend to adjust FSX visuals to be a lot brighter than this and a lot closer to RL. Just take some random daylight photograph with from airport or at altitude with strong sunlight, and compare to your FSX preset. I understand that first few shots are taken under overcast condition with no sunlight, but the shots above the clouds and with no clouds are also very dark.

Example:

LN-RRA_Boeing_737-700_SAS_(6058321087).j

My FSX preset:

2014-1-23_0-52-40-605_zps53b79c72.jpg

So at the end it's all the matter of taste, but I'm confused why majority is screaming about better and more realistic visuals (equals photorealism), and they end with dark high contrast unrealistic visuals, that are good for artistic screens.

Errrrr just don't tell me now that you use this preset only for screens.

Oh yes, where did you found FS Water Configurator for DX10? I've checked official site and it's still in development and the forum is down.

EDIT: found new FS Water Configurator!

Current system: ASUS PRIME Z690-P D4, Intel 12900k, 32GB RAM @ 3600mhz, Zotac RTX 3090 Trinity, M2 SSD, Oculus Quest 2.

Thanks alot! I´m using REX water textures together with FSWaterConfigurator

Gonna try the same settings out. I have a fairly powerful machine now going 4,4 ghz on a i7 4770K CPU and GTX 760. Even with autogen slider set to normal (complete necessity to avoid OOMs) my sim still lags badly at heavy airports and especially at the new FlyTampa Copenhagen. Hows your performance at this airport?
