What is Steam.

Recommended Posts

Hello

Being somewhat aged and a tad worn,I know not what Steam is in relation to games or flightsim.

I do know what steam is when rising from saucepans.

So please what is Steam?

Cheers Andy

Steam often has huge discounts on games and flight simulations when running several sales during the year. Their winter sale should start soon. Expect discounts on other flight simulations again.

You can manage all Your games in one central place and trade them also with others. Its also a community and forum.

Steam has many millions of players from all over the world.

And their newest feature is steam broadcasting: Watch other people or Your friends via live-stream when they play a game or allow Your friends or all people to watch You when playing a game.

Dovetail is going to release FSX on the Steam platformn and is bringing it to the attention of millions of (new) pc gamers this way.

Steam is a software distribution platform. In fact, it's by far the biggest software distribution platform ever created

It's an online shop that sells games (and addons, known as DLC) in downloadable form. It has side features such as multiplayer servers (and associated features such as instant messaging/chat).
