May 21, 201511 yr And this is what I mean and often is the biggest problem. And why we wait on so many hot fixes and services packs because most seem more concerned with incorrect engine blades and wing flex and glass reflections and 'wrong' front gear compression which 'doesn't look right'. If a developer makes the externals the main focus we go down the Carenado track which no one would deny has beautiful models and cockpits but have FDE's that leave something to be desired. And some down right terrible. I'd rather the important stuff - like the FPS issues - or any FDE, cockpit systems etc problems get sorted first rather then external visuals which are unimportant in my eyes from a 'piloting' perspective. Well that explains it. ^_^ PSS's 777 would be something I could see you really liking as the external model (-200) looks like crap but the VC is nice and the avionics are decent (at least for the time period this product was released). If a developer is capable I'd rather have the whole package, but that's just me... I don't know about Feelthere's 777 but their Airbus series had this by pointing to the display and using the Mouse wheel to control brightness. Not realistic, but effective!! Just looked at this and this is not what I'm talking about. Yes you can adjust the brightness (again didn't know that) but when dawn hits and the lights go out PSS's 777 gauges are still lite up in the VC. Same goes for the Feelthere 737 and 777. Not all developers do this but it's a cool feature I wish was standard. May 21, 201511 yr Not sure if any exist. They exist for me, the list goes like this (in no particular order): 1. iFly - 737NG 2. PMDG - 744, MD11, 777, 737NG 3. Ready for Pushback - 742 (Old but the best modeled 742 out there) 4. Feelthere - ERJ, E-Jet series 5. Level-D - 767 6. Dreamfleet - A36, Baron 7. Aerosoft - Airbus series 8. Leonardo - Maddog Great work is out there with all the bases covered exceptionally well. May 22, 201511 yr Jon_aus: I fully agree. Most important is the flyability of the addon: FDE, autopilot, systems. The rest is just the cherry on top. I would not list 737 ifly at the top of the list. Flyability from the VC is average (due to the limited refresh rate of the main gauges) and in my system, AP and FD are unpredictable. Systems are top notch and bug free. To me, the best overall compromise is still the senior level-d 767. Rather than spending a lot of money in development, a developer would be better thought to update the existing platform and code with better visuals, maybe a retrofit LCD cockpit. And from that you can easily do a 757.... But i am speaking as if i was in an ideal world. I know that will never happen. Ghiom
June 10, 201510 yr Not sure if any exist. Just had to post this pic. This is why I love the external visual aspect of the PMDG, Posky, and most other renditions of the FS versions of the 744. Every other aspect of the iFly model seems to be spot on (can't comment on VC night lighting to compare with PMDG's rendition). Again I had to post this pic as it truely captures the 744 in flight. http://www.airliners.net/photo/Japan-Airlines--/Boeing-747-446/0640853/L/&sid=e6079ebba5911b97753706cc39b3b0fd FS2020 Alienware Aurora R11 10th Gen Intel Core i7 10700F - Windows 11 Home 32GB Ram NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC 16GB - Pimax Crystal Light VR
June 10, 201510 yr Author OK Dillon ... under low fuel/weight and high G conditions (such as at an airshow/display) I daresay any aircraft of that wingspan would demonstrate a certain degree of wingflex ... it may never fly again mind you. B) Gentle readers for your information I have purchased the iFly 747-400 in both FS9 and P3D versions. Now that FlyTampa Sydney has been released I look forward to many long haul/high payload flights and I doubt at takeoff I will be much concerned with wingflex issues since I will be much too busy in cockpit.
June 11, 201510 yr Much to do 'bout nut'n ..... or something to that effect. I remember the time that Microsoft was touted as having a FLIGHT simulator ...... That seems to have gotten lost somewhere ..... it now is apparently a GAME where many are more interested in graphics (as in shoot-em-up, first person adventure thingies). Hey, to each his own ..... but to go on .... and on ..... and on ..... complaining about sun screens and flexing appendages and such ...... sigh! P.S. How's that Prepar3D whatnot working out for you? ..... and YOU know who you are! Just say'n
June 11, 201510 yr Prepar3D Eula: 1. License Grant. Subject to the terms and conditions of this EULA, Licensor hereby grants Licensee a fully paid-up, nontransferable, nonsublicensable, nonexclusive license during the Term of this EULA to use the Software, but only on no more than one computer at any one time, only by no more than one user at any one time, and only for purposes other than personal/consumer entertainment. ... and no one can use the excuse they have a "prescription" from the doctor to use it for "entertainment" purposes I still don't get it ..... especially since we "can't" discuss anything taking the place of inserting Disk 4 .... well .... you know the rest! Crazy world, eh?
June 11, 201510 yr Author Jon_aus says:- "Maybe one day if Lockheed - its nerdy flight sim department anyway - ges its act together, i may venture and have a look. Untill then, FS9 MORE then fits my needs." Jon it's not Lockheed Martin's fault. They have developed a perfectly good simulator. Others (developers and users) have bugg...d it up by adding more and more bloatware to it. You are right inasmuch as when I followed FlyTampa's advice to change textures to 2048 from the 1024 currently used P3D closed as if in a panic. Before that the iFly 747 was getting 20fps in spot view (same as ORBX's notorious YBBN) though only 13-14 in VC. YSSY does look beautiful however. Even an optional white pointer shark (fin) has been modeled! Unsure whether an FS9 version will be forthcoming but if so I will purchase that too Jon ... you are certainly right that FS9 fulfills ALL our needs.
June 11, 201510 yr Author I note Robert Fluke (Flukey) received special thanks from George, and was also a beta tester for FlyTampa on YSSY. Smart men at FlyTampa!
June 11, 201510 yr That's why there isn't a problem because fixing OOM's and VAS issues isn't classed as entertainment. I have to say Jon since Ive recently switched I haven't had a single issue with VAS/OOM and I do 9-15 hour flights from some very big airports and my sim is basically maxed out...... But I will admit I did have to tweak it but it didn't take up too much time and Im loving the reality FSX brings compared to the old FS9, But each to their own and I wont bag any FS9 user as its still a great sim I note Robert Fluke (Flukey) received special thanks from George, and was also a beta tester for FlyTampa on YSSY. Smart men at FlyTampa! Thx Appliance, It was an honor to help out (only in advisory since Im from Sydney) and test this scenery. Shame it wont be for FS9 (to my best knowledge) as it is amazing!!

June 11, 201510 yr Hi Dillion All of my final updates before my switch from FS9 can be found here, http://aussiex.org/forum/index.php?/files/category/16-voz-downloads-fs9/ This includes not only YSSY but a few other airports I had done for VOZ (its nothing special but it filled the void)

Just a question, on the link you provided all your airports just install smoothly over a stock VOZ 1.8? I also assume looking at a few file sizes the YSSY updates need to all be download and installed incrementally? Mark Daniels

My YSSY was apart of VOZ1.8 so just download the updates and add them incrementally.... that'll go for any of the others I have updated
