Neuroflight Cessna F406.......

Featured Replies

I'm always on the lookout for new high-powered twin, freeware or payware, but I noticed how the new Neuroflight aircraft is $47.00.She looks like a real nice aircraft but that price is a little steep for me. :(

$47!!! :-eek :-eek :-eek Usually I don't complain about payware prices, but that's just ridiculous! 7$ more than the LevelD 767, for a GA-aircraft, and with FSD just releasing their new discount program, it better be good then! :-)rgrds fredrik

Afaik, it's their first release(?). Seems they've set themselves up for a drubbing. If it isn't the best GA add-on ever they are going to suffer a hideous public lashing...Of course, they can charge whatever they want for it, but I'm going to have to hear some pretty un-precedented positive word-of-mouth about it before I'll even consider dropping $47...

$47.00??? :-wave :-wave :-wave

Same here. I went to their site and looked at all the pictures. I thought it looked really nice until I saw the price. Too rich for me.Jim

Im not up on this plane, But it looks rather like the Flight1 Conquest 2 to me. And with flight1's price and reputation I know where id go.But please tell me the diference between the 2 planes.Jason

>But please tell me the diference between the 2 planes.>>JasonThe Reims F406 is essentially a lisence-built development of the Cessna 404, powered by twin PT6's, rather than the Conquest II's Garrett TPE331 engines. THe F406 is also unpressurized, whereas the Conquest is. (An interesting tidbit from Gerard Frawley's Civil Aircraft is that it's the only version of a Cessna 4- series aircraft still being produced). With regards to the actual add-on, I was definitely considering buying this one, because there's no bigger fan of the Cessna 400's than me! $47 is waaay too rich for my blood. I noticed that the add-on is only 31 EUR, however, which converts more precisely to $39.68US at today's rate. What's the deal here? If the price included shipping, it would seem more reasonable, but the system they use involves a download and a registration key!-David

Yeah I saw that price. $47.00, oh and allegedly over 8000 hours developing. ;-) Ummm yeah ok.... Whatever the payware vendor says goes I guess.. I'd like to see the proof on any of these alleged claims. Also seems a few of their links on their website don't work.IE: About Us, Customers, Products, Upgrades, FAQ.Not sure how many team members since the About Us doesn't show up. :-lolBut if say any developer had alleged 8000 hours doing one single aircraft, and had say 5 members doing the work would require the following.8000 Hours divided by 5 = 1600 Hours each.1600 Hours divided by say 5 hours a day = 320.So we are to assume that a person spent 5 hours every single day for 320 days, times 5 people. Yeah umm sure, ok... I'll believe that. ;-)That is a bit of a stretch in my opinion, and not based upon and facts in evidence. I have yet to see any PAYWARE DEVELOPER prove up any claims for number of hours. They just lay it out there, and beware of those that question it. :- lol Funny Stuff...It always amazes me when Payware folks claim some unproven number of development hours and we're supposed to just take their word for it.Makes me wonder if some developers take every moment ever flying a sim, call it development, and add it to every add-on they try to hawk to the community. I guess for my add-on profiles, I should add thousands of hours of development to the taglines. :-lol :-lolSorry, but this is just another example of smoke and mirrors, in my opinion, and as it seems, some would rather buy through the smoke. As has been told to me before. "To each their own", but for $47.00 USD, you would think at least their website would be functional. :-lolI'll pass on this overpriced add-on, in my opinion. I think most of us know how you feel about developers claims Joe. :) Me, I have no real issue with the claims most make. If you have 8 or 10 people working on an add-on, the hours can add up. 8000 seems pretty high, but so what. Even a thousand hours is s pretty large chunk of time. In the end, I have no particular reason to accuse most of the developers of being liars so I don't. You apparently do. I guess we differ on our basic world-view. :)

This looked like an interesting one, until I saw the price. No thanks!

I imagine they are going to hear a lot of that. :)

Seems they're creating a rod for their own backs. I don't know a single beta tester for these people, and while there might be an NDA on discussing the product, there wouldn't be on ackowledging the beta tester status. 8,000 hours and 47 bucks? It had better be perfect then, straight out of the box, with more features than any other addon. Ever.I wonder if it will be? Certaily the screenshots seem to show a reasonable 2d panel, but the engine intakes are not the correct shape, they haven't shadowed the inlet area, the nose shape seems wrong at first glance, but the real test will be the flight modelling. Allcott

47 dollas!!:-lol :-lol :-lol :-lol :-lol :-lol :-lol Who are they trying to fool. Don't think they will sell too many. I hope they enjoy flying it, cause they are probably the only ones that will. I am prefectly happy with my Aerowix and Flight 1 twins to evern consider this overpriced bird, no matter how good it is.

Why do you people bash this product like that? Has anyone of you actualy purchased it? There are folks out there buying add ons which cost more than twice the amount. So what if you don't know nothing about the developers. There is a developer out there selling his plane for more than 100$ for whom most of us know many things and most of these things are nasty. Yet people buy that plane and they apparently enjoy it immensely.Have you even considered that they may have done their market research and priced their product in a realistic way? After all is it so difficult to visit a couple of sites selling competing add-ons and check their pricing? And, finally, is anyone willing to eat their hat if this truns out to be, say, the PMDG of GA planes?Oh and I hope this doesn't have something to do with them being, apparently, French...

"Oh and I hope this doesn't have something to do with them being, apparently, French..."LET'S NOT GO THERE!!! My read of the comments so far is that the complaints are based strictly on price. No mention of it being from a French producer until you posted. That says more about your bias than those that have posted so far. Let's leave the country of origin out of this, othewise this thread will be removed in a heart beat.
