777 Boxed edition in FSX:SE

Featured Replies

I contacted Aerosoft about an installer for the boxed edition of the 777 for FSX:SE and they said that they were waiting on PMDG. Is this true? If so, is there even a vague ETA for when there will be an installer for folks who bought the boxed edition and therefore don't have access to it via an accounts page at PMDG?

Thanks,

Bill

There's a boxed edition?! I thought the boxed editions were phased out after MD-11 and the 747, but I must be wrong.

I'm interested in this as well.

I cannot answer for PMDG, who does not generally provide release dates and when they do must be taken with grain of salt; however, PMDG does not release software to other distribution channels until they are confident that problems are fixed and the current released version is stable. After that, it can take many months to get through the channel and into the market.

I understand PMDG's high quality standards, which is why we are willing to pay the justifiably high price for the product! All this should need is an installer version for the boxed edition, since the aircraft itself has already been made compatible.

If you have seen the confusion on this Forum and the PMDG General Forum, I think you should have a good idea why it is going to take awhile for Aerosoft to receive an installer for the T7 in SE.

Completely true, but it still doesn't tell me if working on the installer for the boxed edition is even on their radar.

Maybe someone from the PMDG team will see this question and have answer for you.

That is indeed my intent. This is how we are supposed to reach them, correct? That is why they insist on full names in signatures so they aren't answering the questions of pirates.

That's a very simplistic view of how it works and unfortuneatly that's not going to happen (my guess), rather a new product SKU will be released with the updated components (not just installer).

I am very sorry that I am not up to your desired level of complexity. I just assumed that PMDG valued the purchasers of their brand-new boxed product as much as they value the purchasers of their older downloaded product, for which they have provided a new installer. I didn't know that buying the boxed product entitled me to lesser consideration!  Until they tell me otherwise I will chose to continue to believe that this isn't true. I have more faith in them than that.

Silly me!

Nope. This is the Community Support forum. While we're usually lurking (well, more like blowing up the forum for me), the only official avenue to contact us directly is support.precisionmanuals.com . That's the only way to guarantee an answer of some sort.

I don't see why it wouldn't be, but a ticket might get an answer from someone on the team who knows more specifically.

At last at least someone who is trying to be helpful instead of belittle the question. Not answer the question of course, but at least point me in a helpful direction.

I was under the impression that since PMDG required all postings to have a name, this was PMDG's home away from home. Otherwise how could PMDG enforce that policy? I will seek an answer via a ticket, which frankly seems like a method of getting tech support rather than a way to get an answer to such a general question.
