February 26, 201511 yr I am opting out of this one. I realize now that RSR's thread was a one-off and that in general, these discussions are not allowed. So I humbly apologise. A classic case of when you re-read your posts from a few weeks ago, you think, "what was I thinking!" Oh well live and learn. Wes Meyer

February 26, 201511 yr First of all, I don't understand all this excitement about cockpit geometry. In the real aircraft, everybody's view is 'different' anyways. I know there's correct eye-wheel height and other guidance, but you'd be surprised how many real-world guys adjust their seat to their own little 'sweet-spot'. Up a notch there....forward a bit there... I don't remember there being this much hoopla around geometry for the first couple years of NGX....what precipitated all this? I wouldn't expect PMDG to seriously start rebuilding the geometry. If it didn't bother the talent at PMDG when they were developing it, it shouldn't bother me now. Second of all, I think it's great that we are able to have this discussion, and it'd be absolutely stellar if PMDG could throw in the occasional update I'm terms of FMC of flight guidance functionality (much like the real aircraft). But I think people are looking for changes that are not there. I just can't see how PMDG could 'upgrade' this product enough to warrant another 'upgrade' purchase. The fundamentals of the aircraft are already highly accurate and fantastic. The flight/engine modeling, systems, lighting etc. Heck their electrical load simulation although relatively basic, is still pretty much spot on. You even get a bang-on implementation of a pressurization system that probably could have been much simplified and no one would have known. My point is, I don't know what people are really expecting from this mythical super-upgrade to NGX. The aircraft is a fantastic job as is. But don't worry, as I wholly expect you will see improvements. As PMDG grows within the commercial-P3D platform, I'm sure they'll attract true-commercial customers. Customers that will look for updated FGS and FMC functionality to represent their fleet, and/or specific aircraft. I would not be surprised if such adjustments would trickle down to us 'humble' FSX customers. So be patient. Patrick Houghton

One of the guys on the 777 beta team has a knack for finding the most absurdly fine details, and he was one of the major voices speaking up about it being incorrect. He's now going back in and picking out all the small things with the NGX, since we're updating it for FSX:SE and P3D. Quite the attention to detail. Kyle Rodgers
