March 27, 201511 yr Appears it will have georeferenced approach plates for starters | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
March 27, 201511 yr meh, already probably outdated though. Ron Hamilton "95% is half the truth, but most of it is lies, but if you read half of what is written, you'll be okay." __ Honey Boo Boo's Mom
March 27, 201511 yr Commercial Member Looks spectacular! Hopefully once they get this pushed out, they can start on crossfill. I would really, really, really like crossfill between units! Jim Stewart Milviz Person.
March 27, 201511 yr Author meh, already probably outdated though. Incorrect, the navdata will be current. Also, your location will be superimposed onto the approach plates so you can see where you are in reference. David Graham Google, Network+, Cisco CSE, Cisco Unity Support Specialist, A+, CCNA
March 28, 201511 yr Where did you read the Navdata will be current? Afaik it's still old (well newer), based off the v5 trainer data (airac 1405) | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
March 28, 201511 yr Looks great! I'm glad they came through with the update to 5, I thought it would take a lot longer. As for the Navdata/Approach Plates I'm pretty sure it's just the stuff that's included with the v5 trainer (ie. 2014 navdata) I mean, maybe I'm wrong, and Flight1 have scored a deal for current navdata/charts...but I highly doubt it :( Neil Andrews. March 28, 201511 yr I guess I will rephrase. More current* Ya and in a few months it won't be "more current" and neither will the Charts. Ron Hamilton "95% is half the truth, but most of it is lies, but if you read half of what is written, you'll be okay." __ Honey Boo Boo's Mom
March 28, 201511 yr Author Ya and in a few months it won't be "more current" and neither will the Charts. Would you rather they just stopped working on developing it any further? Why not just stop all development because addons don't come with the most current charts, terrain or nav data. No more addons for fsx, p3d, whatever sim floats your boat. March 28, 201511 yr Author or offer an ability to update it like everyone else does. https://fly.garmin.com/fly-garmin/pilotpak/ It's not their fault. You can always buy that! David Graham Google, Network+, Cisco CSE, Cisco Unity Support Specialist, A+, CCNA
March 28, 201511 yr Commercial Member I assume the chart overlay is something you can switch on or off in the menu? Otherwise it seems like it kinda obscures things like your obstacles, terrain, or any waypoints that aren't in the approach? I hope it's a handy toggle, like right on the main map menu button, it always seemed like getting into the charts was sort of a PITA (click, click, click...), maybe I'm just getting old and lazy. Is there anything new and cool in the v5 trainer itself? I always thought they should add "Vcalc - time/dist to TOD" as one of the available data fields. Also it'd be awesome to see "TOD" projected on the map. I know those are Garmin things and not Flight1 things, just musing. I absolutely love these GTNs, I've got both for FSX and the 750 for P3D, I haven't been happier with an addon since I bought FSNav for FS2002!
