Well with lots of testing i can see improvement paris and london still horrible under 15 fps and juddery with stock carrendo with high settings and all orbx products. else where visually a good improvement and better fps with less cpu bound items. Turning down sliders help very little in city. . Even o/c to 4.4 only mariginal improvement. Worth the upgrade ask me in a week.Only tweak optimizepats=1

I have been in touch with evga and been offered an rma . Can anybody assist with figures of performance for this card I could compare to see if I have actually got a duff card.

I am running 25fps + in very dense area and above 30fps+ in VC outside of towns. That's with PMDG planes. On the Dash 8 Q400,I can get sometime upward to 60fps. All of it on an i5 4670k not overclock and a MSI GTX970

If you have Orbx england, try disable that.

Yes done the shaders and deleted the config files . Just downloading driver 344.75 to try . Using DDuV14100 to clean up drivers so far I have seen no improvement with this card if anything running worse than my GTX 760

Sound's to me, like all you have is a driver issue.  I might suggest that you use a driver scrubber program to be absolutely sure all elements of the system 'seeing' your older card still in play, is gone.  I think you have an adulterated driver.  I suggest you scrub the driver in SAFE MODE, and then reboot..and install whatever driver suite you like.

have been using dduv14100 in safe mode to scrub old driver that is the most common one I have seen are there any better?

I can't recommend any of the NCP settings Rich has posted.

 

I have a 970 on my other PC 3960X and I haven't touched anything in NCP (all defaults) or NI ... running the 347.88.  The 970 is doing a very good job at FPS even at 4K resolution.

 

Correct DDU in safe mode.

I have used your recommended settings in 2.4 - in 2.5 this does not work anymore unless I want a blurry mess - not all systems the same and this is one example - 2.4 and 2.5 are way different when it comes to getting rid of that blurry terrain - this is the only thing that worked for me without going down Nvidia Inspector lane - besides takes 1 min to see if it works for others - no harm done - 2.5 is a huge step backwards when it comes to just using Control Panel out of the box - I just cant get a decent quality unless I did what I did. Now LM put it back to where it was and all will be happy again

I have a GTX970 card and have no problems with running the sim using default settings.

 

With the Aerosoft bus and UK2000 EGLL I can get a steady 25FPS at any Terminal 5 gate.Add in ASN and not a lot of change.

 

As a new P3D user I have not tweaked anything at all.

Thanks Gent for all your help used the latest driver cleaner and some finger trouble on my behalf around vector. Forgot I had turned on all settings a couple of days before install . Kills a PC over dense areas newbie error just forgot with excitement of my new card  . Frame rates not startling and carrendo stock over London ftx England high teens in cockpit low  but  smooth 4x antialiaing.Trying to up my overclock to 4.2ghz as high as I am comfortable with without watercooling . Good air cooling evo fan.  Still testing if still not satisfied will RMA as EVGA have great returns policy and then re-format.
