April 30, 201511 yr Hi Just installed P3D 2.5 on windows 10 build 10074, i am really pleased with the speed. I cannot wait for the final release so i can do a full upgrade. :-) Regards Jon Dignan Regards John Dignan
April 30, 201511 yr I heard that Microsoft added more Aero like features to Windows 10 (the blur effect on the start menu). How is that looking. Júnior Silva
April 30, 201511 yr The whole UI is looking alot better , still a few bugs to get sorted but nothing really bad. The improvement i am getting on p3d is just awesome. Regards John Dignan
April 30, 201511 yr Author Well, I had to put my enthusiastic action on hold due to few problems with my machine. Tomorrow gonna try again, hopefully successful. For those still on earlier builds than 10074, the latest NVidia 352.63 driver can be downloaded as standalone from Guru3d.com. How compatible it is with earlier builds I cannot say, though I am running it successfully on my other machine with build 10061. Forgot to add, 352.63 is the latest NVidia Windows 10 beta driver.
June 15, 201510 yr After installing the upgrade to Windows 10 will we have to delete and then re-install Prepar3d v. 2.5 and all other software or does an OS upgrade mean that we don't have to re-install everything?
June 15, 201510 yr Just a Heads up Friend of mine tried Win 10 with P3D all went well but went back to win 7 because his PFC flight yoke (USB) kept disconnecting , Couldn't find a driver for the yoke i think, But apart from that He said it was working well with P3D Cheers Riche PC SPECS: WINDOWS 10 X64 , Intel Core i9 9900K @ 4.9GHz, RAM: 64GB DDR4 1800MHz, MOTHERBOARD: GIGABYTE AORUS ULTRA Z390,GPU: NVIDIA ROG STRIX ROG 3080TI 12GB
June 16, 201510 yr Remember Windows 10 is still beta. With build 10122, I was finally able to update windows without a full wipe. Versions prior required a full ISO reinstall. I had to reinstall all applications including P3D and add-ons. I'm anxiously awaiting the next build on the fast ring, but we're going to have to wait for E3 to be done before we see that. With 10130, I've noticed an subtle increased frame-rate with a very alpha Win 10 AMD driver (15.200.1023.5) When the RTM is released, I will wipe the computer and reinstall all applications and P3D again.
June 21, 201510 yr Author Well, I had hell of a ride with my PC, had to eventually build new one. Anyway, I did virgin install of Windows 10 build 10130, set up P3DV2.5, and I am more than satisfied. Haven't had a single crash or any problem past two weeks, except with Opus FSI, which may in some way not be fully compatible. This build comes with the latest NVidia 352.84 driver preloaded. All my Saitek controllers (Yoke, Pedals, 3 x Panels and 4 x Quadrants) simply work, I did not need to install any drivers (Windows picked them up immediately). Very satisfied. SFreeby, on my other PC I upgraded from Win 8.1 to 10. All my games and other additional software were kept intact, to the extend that I could simply carry on with life as usual. Based on this experience, my DEDUCTION would be that P3D would be kept intact after the upgrade.
