April 6, 201511 yr Benchmarks should always be taken with a grain of salt, and theres always the problem of whether certain improvements apply globally, or whether they have to be written into a program's code to be taken advantage of. Still, for what its worth, I thought this was interesting. We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically. April 6, 201511 yr For that kind of performance increase, it has to be worth it for LM to have a pop at implementing DX12 as much as they can.. Kevin Firth - AMD 9800X3D; Asus Prime X670E; 64Gb Cas30 6000 DDR5; RTX5090; AutoFPS

April 8, 201511 yr Author 2 million versus 12 million drawcalls per second! Good grief! I'm hoping for similar gains for OpenGL Next, otherwise known a Vulkan. OpenGL already tends to have lower overhead, but every little bit helps, and who knows, maybe Laminar will take advantage of it for X-plane. Certainly I'm hoping Outerra jumps on it. It should also be interesting to see what, if anything, LM makes of it all. We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... April 8, 201511 yr I have a sneaky feeling this DX-12 stuff may be the little secret that Rob A. has been hinting about in the Ver 3 thread. Maybe a little side trip to take advantage of this and maybe SLI before tearing the motor out for a 64 Bit make over. Who knows, with Nvidia's planned cards for late next year it sounds like we will be able to chain a bunch of cards together. Those two developments may overcome the need for 64Bit in the near future. April 8, 201511 yr Aren't there are only around 2,000 drawcalls per frame in the ESP engine? That's a farcry from the millions of drawcalls that DX12 would be trying to optimize. Daniel Moser
April 9, 201511 yr 2 million versus 12 million drawcalls per second! Good grief! Yes indeed good grief André
