Got all the PMDG products. MSE 2 has no impact on frame rates...use 32xAA, LOD 9.5.

So crisp I can almost count the rattlesnakes HL!!

Appreciate the comment!

Nice shots.

Many Thanks!

Awesome shots HLJAMES, as usual. LOD at 9.5 ? how does your FSX's VAS survive such abuse??? ;-D

Cheers!

Thanks....VAS usage is a function of autogen concentrations. MSE 2 has no autogen.

Beautiful shots!

Much Appreciated!

Great stuff.    I never even thought about upping my LOD that far.    It never occured to me.  As there is no autogen to worry about your VAS doesn't budget because the VAS footprint the MSE tiles take up is already loaded in memory.    It is not 'paged in' like Landclass is.   This is one of the reasons by the simulator takes a long time to load up when you have large amounts of photo scenery loaded because it loads ALL of it at once into memory.

I need to get all my states and cities reinstalled and try some flights with the 32x AA trick.    Are you using NI to get the 32x or just changing the entry in your CFG file?

Thanks Very Much!

The NI is set to 32x CSAA

With photoscenery the frame rate problem ends because you'r CPU and system memory are no longer bottlenecking frames. This will permit a MAX-OUT image quality.

The new bottleneck now becomes storage performance, you must be able to get about 160mb/sec (blurries). A 7200rpm HDD can only pump about 80mb/sec.

Go get that old Dell Pentium 4 out of the trash and put photoscenery on it.

Yes I like this type of scenery. Utah is one of my favourite state, so spectacular.

You are the first person who has made a comment about my photobucket account even though I have had it for several years!!

Cheers

To avoid a long loading time I only select the states I intend to fly over. It saves time
