What do you think of the new Thunderbirds Are Go?

Recommended Posts

The ancient show has returned, no strings attached, and to fairly favorable reviews. What do you think?

O.K. I'm hooked. Now I've gotta see if the new Lady Penelope still has Parker!

Oo-er! You nearly had me going there, as I thought you meant the USAF's Thunderbirds display team, as I am dying to see them in display formation having had the privilege of seeing them close-up in their hangar in LV.

I think it's excellent. As a kid growing up on the 70s and waking up at 6 to catch an episode of the original series, I'm really enjoying the reboot. They have stayed true, and the animation looks just like they are made from models.

What is also great is I can watch it with my kids as it is more accessible to them.

As all reboots go.. well.. I liked the stings.

When I was watching this back in the day, it was followed by UFO.

I think that by shrinking the show from an hour to a half hour they have made things a bit frenetic, but it probably matches modern attention spans.

I like the updated visuals, of course. The puppets had a retro coolness all their own, but this is exciting in its own way as well.

The puppets and modeling from 1968 were exquisite....it's kind of a lost art. The new animation is a bit of a letdown.
