July 15, 200520 yr Original version or not, don't you think that if CS has updated the 707 for the boxed version that they wouldn't release it first for the download users to beta test? All jokes aside, sort of, have you looked at the Just Flight 707 page? It has CS all over the place so, YES, this is the same product. Take it from someone who beta tested this alpha release.Cheers,JohnBoeing 727/737 & Lockheed C-130/L-100 Mechanichttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpg
July 15, 200520 yr Commercial Member >My point is until it's released no one can be certain if it's>the original version or not.You are of course quite correct, though as has been commented on above, why on earth would the CS publicity machine not have the updated version splashed all over the place so they can profit from the download sales instead of accepting what must surely be a reduced income from boxed sales?Maybe it's time take odds on whether or not it's identical to the current release :-)EDIT: John got there first. July 15, 200520 yr In my opinion, JustFlight and CS's distribution agreement did not specify a patched version. If it did, JustFlight and for sure CS would have announced it. With all this kerfuffel, and all that's gone on in the past, a patch would be very big news, i.e. publicity, indeed. But JustFlight can't do this. A boxed version is the kind of thing that a kid gives his dad for his birthday. Dad could take off, turn the autopilot on, and turn to talk to Johnny while his brand new 707 noses in. So here's my take from way out in left field on what will happen now. There was no agreement for a patch, but JustFlight will come to its senses and realize selling the existing 707 as a boxed version will not fly, so to speak. There's nothing much for them to gain in the big scheme of things by selling it but a whole lot to lose. They then tell CS that they can't market it as is, and voila! CS announces that there is a patch in development for the 707. They have obviously lost the customer relationship so they can't afford to #### off their distributors. JustFlight comes out looking like a star for what was a pretty shady deal to begin with, CS only has to gain 1 or 2 loyal customers to double their loyal customer base, and we get a patch. billg

July 15, 200520 yr Author I asked JustFlight in its forum:"I have seen posts on other forums alleging that the 707 as sold by Captain Sim has serious flaws. Is the version about to be released by JustFlight the same or has it been patched to alleviate the alleged flaws?"JustFlight replied:"Hi,When it first came out the were several reports of bugs but these have now been addressed and the published version is the latest version containing all the fixes"Make of that what you will. July 15, 200520 yr I have several JF boxed items and several downloaded items that they also do as boxed. gnerally i do not got any duplcates, in that i have the boxed 727 but not the downloaded and the downloaded 340/330 but not the boxed. there is one exception though; i have both the PSS vulcan and the JF "RAF Vulcan". while both prducts are very similar the JF Vulcna has been developed further to include different models, in that the JF version includes over the PSS version missiles, parachute and fueling rig. It could be possible that the 707 professional is indeed "fixed".
