Pretty much nothing significant as far as I can see.  The manifold pressure is still wrong at full throttle.  The sound is still wrong, no change until about 30" of manifold pressure when reducing power after takeoff.  It still has an autopilot that one would rarely, if ever, see in a Navajo today.  The initial flap setting is still wrong (visually).   I have been defending Carenado for years, but I am starting to side with the "I'm done with Carenado" group.

Well, that's something.  I didn't check night lighting.  Better is a step in the right direction.

A crappy autopilot !

A crappy autopilot!

Yes indeed.  We tried to get them to fix it, but they didn't, at least not in version 1.1.  I am using the default FSX King autopilot as a pop and it works well with the GTN750.

"Crappy" is a matter of opinion and you are certainly due yours. I have found it to be very authentic and for me, a welcome variation. Hardly a "fix" issue.

Different aircraft and different equipment affords an even greater real world experience that can be very enjoyable. If every aircraft is outfitted with the same equipment things could become very boring and lackluster.

The Navajo is an excellent and very accurately done offering! I am really enjoying this one!!

Hi Jesse,

You make a valid point. You enjoy variety.  Me too. That's one of the benefits of this wonderful hobby.  It would indeed be pretty boring to fly the same thing day in and day out.  That would be too real.  I confess. For me, a big part of FSX for me is, sort of, reliving my youth.  I fly the airplanes in FSX that I used to fly out the airports I used to frequent.  Most of them are in Northern CA.  And, as a side note, ORBX has made a huge contribution in that area.   I was hoping for a better autopilot in the Navajo.  That is because the Navajo's I flew had better autopilots.  In fact, back in those days, we seldom saw a new airplane come from the factory with an autopilot.  Most were added at the dealership.  Most were King autopilots where I worked.  But, I apologize.  I should not be so self centered. I should appreciate the fact there are folks like you that like the challenge of new and different equipment.  And many enjoy flying the way it used to be with basic equipment.  I doubt if there are any Navajos in service today that haven't been upgraded in the avionics department.  But, if one took delivery of a Navajo from the factory with an autopilot back in the 70's, it would have some version of the Piper Altimatic autopilot.  I think the one in the Carenado version must be an Altimatic I.  I never saw one that basic.  Most of the Altimatic's I saw were II and above.   In summary, I agree, the Carenado Navajo is, overall,  a pretty nice airplane.  There are still some flaws.  I fixed some and I can overlook the others.  And with a little bump in the manifold pressure setting in the aircraft.cfg file, it fly's pretty much like the real deal.  As I remember it.

Cheers,

Bill

Bill,

My sentiments as well. In fact, I think this is one of my favorite purchases from Carenado.

I have enjoyed our discussions on this aircraft and appreciate all of your comments. Frankly, you have made me stretch a bit on researching the Navajo and I have learned a great deal more about this fine aircraft than I ever would have done on my own. (I even drug out my old protractor to measure the flap setting!  )

Thanks and...

Blue Skies, Buddy.
