August 6, 200520 yr Which of these planes are best? What advantages does the 767 have over the PMDG?What advantages does the PMDG have over the 767?I'm considering a advanced jet airliner. One thing I know already is that the PMDG can befound in boxed version to a lower price then the 767.Also I think the boxed version contains a printed manual.
August 6, 200520 yr I do not have the 767 but i do have the PMDG 737NG 600/700/800/900 the 737 has a virtual cabin and the 767 does not. AFAIK the 767 only comes in one variation as opposed to the 2 of the 737, i would imagine the Cd version of the 800,900 is the same as the download version but without the need to have the 600,700 installed first (and is also available on CD).not sure where you live but they are both avaialbe in the UK fom play.com for
August 6, 200520 yr Go for the 737 - it'll teach you most of what you need to know about handling a big jet (ie pushing the right buttons so it handles itself). And if you're into flying accurate flightplans you can do loads of short-range hops. Personally I think it's just that little bit more polished a product than the 767.And for the future?..well, I believe PMDG have just released a 747.Best wishesIan
August 6, 200520 yr Go for the 767. It's a much more complex and complete simulation than the 737.On the other hand it all depends on what kind of flights you want to do.I still use the 737 more often because I very rarely do longhaul.
August 6, 200520 yr If you end up with the 737NG consider buying FS2Crew to add to the realisim. August 6, 200520 yr Hands down PMDG. Just hang around the PMDG forums for a while and look at how great PMDG treats their valued customers vs. Level D. Your money will be much better spent with PMDG products.Gary Hawk

August 6, 200520 yr future?..well, I believe PMDG have just released a>747.>Yes I have been giving the PMDG Queen som thoughts. But I find it natural to work my way up in regard of size of the plane. Also the queen is more expensive and has one thing in common with the planes I asked about. It's very automatic.
August 6, 200520 yr >If you end up with the 737NG consider buying FS2Crew to add>to the realisim. It makes a great airplane even better.>I saw that a FS2Crew version for the 767 is also in work.

August 7, 200520 yr >>Go for the 767. >>It's a much more complex and complete simulation than the>>737.>>>>In what way?More systems are modeled in the 767. And I don't mean systems that a 737 doesn't have.Just one example is the IRS, which isn't modelled in the 737.
August 7, 200520 yr Both the LDS767 and the PMDG747 are fantastic, cutting edge add-ons with equally tremendous support. I've had both since the day of release so I have more time on the 767. The 747 is sure to be one of the best ever produced. You can't go wrong with either one.
August 7, 200520 yr Forget either, take that money and go fly a cessna for a little time ;-), in this way you avoid all this back and forth bickering about who has the bigger airplane.
Randy J. Smith
Randy J Smith
August 7, 200520 yr My concern would be that if it were someones first complex airliner they might be overwhelmed. There is no reason they can't start out with the PMDG 737 and then go to the 767. I remember flying the default 737 in the game and I had a ball. Then moving up to all the systems on the PMDG was daunting, not to mention trying to learn the FMC properly. I know a lot of units are sold, but I wonder how many 737s and 767s sit in the back of the hard drive hanger simply because the learning curve proved to be too steep and it takes a pretty long time to just set up for a flight.
