Check the website menu "Planned Releases" page. I have scheduled external camera views for the 0.9.9 release.

You'll probably just need the P3D DLL.  This is a really nice tool and has some real potential.  I didn't see that you had a mouse look...probably want that.  It'd also be nice to be able to use a shift key with a button and/or a 'shift button' and another button.  That's something that's lacking from EZDoc.

0.9.6 has been released with mouse camera move feature!!

Update:

I have now tried it in FSX SE and it totally messses up my FSX. When I try to make a new view , ie. Captain in the C172, it goes outside the plane in a zoom that I can hardly get it back to normal. After trying all keys, zooms etc, I finally managed to get it set up with captains view. I then saved the view and made a new camera (FO) and again it just goes bananas like before, and even when I push the captains view, It's totally messed up again. I can't even get back to my normal views set up by FSX ie spot, tower, virtual cockpit etc. and the only way to restore them is to restart FSX.

I don't know if it doesn't work with FSX SE, or what the problem are, but for now it's a no go for me :-(

Regards Joern

0.9.6 now supports FSX SE. Please read the website for instructions on what you must do to enable EZCamViews to work with SE.

I have downloaded it, but haven't had the time to try it yet, will get back to you when I have.

Watched your video with the mouse camera move, and it looks pretty handy. I was wondering if it's possible in a future realease to make the CCM resizeable so we can decide ourselves how big we want it to be?

I know there's there's a resize option since v 0.95, but would like to be able to make it as big or small as suits best on the screen. Ie, it I want to make it so big that it fills the whole screen (not likely) or so small it can be in the corner of a panel.

Hey, just got an idea, I know it can be pulled to another monitor, but I just have one monitor, so can it be made via WIFI (future release) to be used on an Ipad, now that would be nice :-)

Regards Joern

BTW, I can't open the manual in chrome, is there a .pdf version of it ?

You can resize and move the CCM window. You have 3 base size options: a 3x3 or 4x4 or 5x5 matrix (controls how many buttons and thus how many camera views you can click a button to display).

There is also a handly hot key option that you may use to pop up and pop down the CCM window so its very fast to get to it to change camera views and then get rid of it again fast so you can get back to flying.

I'll put the wifi suggestion on my to do list. However, I'm not 100% sure this idea will happen because this will involve programming a completely new mobile app to look like the CCM window. Not an easy task and very time consuming to do. I have done some mobile programming in the past so I know the work involved to pull this off.

We'll just have to wait and see. There are now close to 100 flight simmers using EZCamViews and only 4 have made donations. So you can figure out the ROI on my time (so far).

I forgot to answer your help file question: the help file is (currently) down loadable from the website. Look on the left side for the Documentation menu link. It's a standard *.chm file. A PDF help file will come later.

Hello

Thank you for a very promissing program that I would love to get working.

I have FSX and I cannot get EZCamViews to work. I get the same zoom problems as Joern describes in post at 26. august. With the 0 9 6c release I discover that I do not have the lines with the mouse move. I then discover that EZCamViews reports that it is connected to FSX SE. I have the gold version of FSX fully updated and NOT FSX SE.

What can I do to make EZCamViews detect the right version of FSX on my computer ?

Thanks

Hi Alex,

The SE connection might be problematic. There is no clear cut software call to determine which FSX is running. Consulting with several other FSX developers, I determined what call would best be able to determine which FSX was running but I was not 100% sure.

You've confirmed it. The call being used isn't fool proof so I will have to remove it. I will make this change within the hour and have a new uploaded ver for you.

SE users will just have to read the website and know that they will not be able to use mouse camera move on the SE platform...it will NOT work. The two hot keys will still be visible but I think I will set a flag in the ini file so those using SE can set this flag and not see those two hot key lines.

Regarding the zoom problems...I'd like to see what you are talking about...I'm wondering if we can link our PCs together and you can show me exactly what you mean. Please email me and we can make the arrangements to do this. I think this would be the best way to fix the zoom issue.

Thanks...

@Alex -- I have uploaded 0.9.6d which removed the auto-detect SE code. Now there is a radio button on Tab 1 Camera Files where you can choose your platform: FSX or FSX SE or P3D (coming soon).

Thank you for this program, and free!

The camera shifting is visible if you fly to different regions or headings and using bigger aircraft. If for example I fly from Europe to Asia, taking off facing south or north, then head east, the camera shifts the farther latitude I go. Can this be countered?

What a pity that the mouse move feature can't be used in FSX SE, it looks like a very nice feature.

Regarding resizing, I did see the video, but would like to be able to make the windows even smaller, so it could be on screen all the time, but I'll just have to learn to use hotkeys instead.

How small do you want it?
