How come no new airplane? Do you own a Meridian now? What would you want for a new airplane?I almost purchased a new Cirrus a few years ago, but other issues intervened. It would have been hard by myself, but with a partner or two I think we could have pretty easily swung it. I think it is really amazing the value you get for your money in a Cirrus.I am a part owner (1/4) of a '73 Cherokee 180 today, and I only paid $7500 for that, and it currently costs about $500/year in maintenance and $350/year in insurance and $30/hour to fly.Good luck,ThomasN15802KASH

>Why isn't the LDS as expensive I have to ask again. Was it not>as time consuming to program? Not as difficult to model?>LDS doesn't have the same VC clickable (with no pop-ups) cockpit. I believe this is where most of the hours went. No to mention simply oustanding and probably best ever exterior model with so many parts modelled. Figure this - real 747 is close to 50% more expensive than real 767 so maybe there should be a similar price differential in simulation ;)Michael J.

The extra cost of the PMDG Queen versus the LDS 767 are there because the model itself is bigger and harder to design/test, the systems are more complicated and complex (even if they mostly run in the background), the VC is amazing with the amount of detail, space to move around, clickability, and still decent frame rates, and the reresh rate and FMC totally beats out the LDS airplane which is itself a great quality add-on but had MAJOR problems when it first came out.I think if you don't want to spend almost 60 dollars for an add-on you are going to have to find another hobby. If people demand complex systems with a complex VC but the ability to have it run decent on their middle-low end system, they shouldn't be surprised if prices are high. I rarely go to the movies or out to bars, but 60 dollars will barely get you ONE night on the town, while the 55 towards the Queen will give you almost endless enjoyment.

>but 60 dollars will barely get you ONE>night on the town, while the 55 towards the Queen will give>you almost endless enjoyment.well, until you reinstall it 5 times.....LOL

"well, until you reinstall it 5 times.....LOL"Huh??? Ain't that half the fun? bt

no I mean 5 reinstalls are the limit, then your key doesnt work anymore.

Ah, to dream my dear Thomas. My wife and I are in the middle of raising a new family with a 10 month old beautiful baby girl. I have put off owning and only rent or fly aircraft of friends. The Mooney manufacturing plant is about 45 minutes away and I go there often. I have a friend who owns a fairly new Mooney and we fly sometimes but not often.Maybe when my little girl gets bigger I will take her up and start the dream all over again. Maybe...Ken

Whilst I can understand those who argue that they don't like spending more on an addon than the price of "the game" itself, I'd like to offer what I think is a more accurate way of viewing things by reminding them that FS9 itself is essentially only an update of FS2002 which is an update of FS2000 etc etc. Looking at it like that might balance the eqation a bit. FS9 cost me

but 60 dollars will barely get you ONE>night on the townI don't want to know where you hang out but I usually spend an average of 25 Euros per weekend. ;)

>no I mean 5 reinstalls are the limit, then your key doesnt>work anymore. I noticed you have a Flight 1 banner there. They too have a "limit" on re-installs. Matter of fact PMDG allow more than 5 times, you simply get in touch with them about it, like you do with others...
Randy J. Smith
Smith
thats my point, I think the limits should be done away with, sell the product and give the file to the customer, screw this limited install crap!not everyone runs FS on a internet comp and it's insulting to have to beg for a new key for a product you pay $55 for

But is there a better way to deal with piracy? I don't have an answer for that. At least both PMDG and Flight1 will work with you if you have a legitimate need to install more than 5 times.Tony=http://www.flightsim-bevs.com]BEVBetaSig.jpg

Smith
The big difference is that with Flight1 you can reactivate it yourself if it has reached its limit, you dont have to email them and sit and wait for 2 days until you are allowed 1 more install. My 747 was reactivated to day, thx for that, but only for one more install. So now i have to leave it on the disk, no more reinstalling and messing around with settings in FS9, because that could mean no more 747 flying. But the way i use FS9 i know it wont be long before i change some cfg settings and have to reinstall everything :).ps. I think PMDG should make it an automated process to reactivate their products just as others have like aerosoft and flight1, maybe they will someday when they get tired of answering revalidate mails all day.OHN
