August 17, 200520 yr PSS has the best with a VC, although its very dated compared to the newest releases. Basically Airbuses are more complicated and some things such as fly-by-wire cannot be done in flight sim. As an example, in the real airbus if you decrease thrust, your airplane does not descend, I don't think anyones figured out how to do this in MS yet
August 17, 200520 yr Airbus apparently doesn't want to share its data with outfits like PMDG which are USA based. Therefore you can not expect a very good Airbus simulation being developed by a US-based simulation company. PSS is based in UK and they have Airbuses for you to buy.Michael J.WinXP-Home SP2,AMD64 3500+,Abit AV8,Radeon X800Pro,36GB Raptor,1GB PC3200,Audigy 2http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/747400.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_beta_member.jpg Michael J.
August 17, 200520 yr I remember the PIC A320 with the first working FBW system for FS. Wasn't this the best A320 simulation in par in system modelings to the latest queens?
August 17, 200520 yr The best combination on the market at the moment is the freeware iFDG model and flight dynamics merged with the PSS panel. But the PSS Airbus will not be updated so we have to hope that unless I can buy the code and development rights some developer can develop an excellent, PMDG/LDS-quality Airbus. It's good at the moment but could be so much better.
August 18, 200520 yr I am wondering why there doesn't seem to be any good payware Airbuses on the market? Virtually all European airlines have the Airbus in their fleet and yet there is no "more realistic" panel/virtual cockpit available - at least not that I have found one yet. What do you think is the reason for a lack of good Airbuses in FS9 and that developers concentrate more on Boeing?
August 18, 200520 yr > As an example, in the real airbus if you>decrease thrust, your airplane does not descend, I don't think>anyones figured out how to do this in MS yetHi Big Al,The PSS A320 Airbus, I still use in FS9 is the best available. The aircraft was built for FS2002 and adapted for use within FS9. In FS2002 the 'Auto-trim' works, thus preventing it from losing height when you reduce the throttle. In FS9, this function could not be modeled, for whatever reasons, I don't know.Dave T. .........On the lovely warm Devon Riviera and active 'FlightSim User's Group' member at http://www.flightsimgrpuk.free-online.co.uk/ Dave Taylor
August 18, 200520 yr The PSS Airbus is very good, and I own their A340 :). Paulo Marcelo Soares, an A330 pilot, made some critical and positive comments about the PSS Airbus. He found some errors, but he thought the product had "lots of really nice things in the product." He also said that "It has an enormous potential!"Terblanche Jordaan wrote an article about his experiences with a full motion A320 simulator (http://www.flightsim.com/cgi/kds?$=main/special/737.htm). He said that the PSS simulator was very accurate: "I was amazed by the realism that PSS created in their aircraft and panels. Everything works exactly as the real thing; except obviously the feeling of the aircraft in motion.".I sincerely hope that PSS update their Airbus series, and improve the FBW simulation :). They are moving onto the 777 and 757, and so the Airbus will probably be forgotten :( Quote from MS Flight Team Lead: "We’ve made some guesses"

August 19, 200520 yr Tatu, thanks for the link. I never new SSW existed. Their model and 3d cockpit look great and are almost too good to be true. Looks like nothing much has taken place at SSW since March 2005. BTW, observe the shadows. Not sure if they're dynamic or painted on.http://simsoftworkshop.com/uploads/photos/90.jpgIs this MSFS ??http://simsoftworkshop.com/uploads/photos/65.jpghttp://simsoftworkshop.com/uploads/photos/82.jpghttp://simsoftworkshop.com/uploads/photos/74.jpghttp://simsoftworkshop.com/uploads/photos/76.jpg-Keith
August 19, 200520 yr In a word, no. Those are renders, probably from 3D Studio Max. It'll be the same model and VC, but it will look very different in FS itself without the rendered reflections and shadows. The FS engine just isn't capable of those kind of lighting effects.

August 19, 200520 yr Sure the SSW looks nice. But will it be as buggy as the A310? And how long until is is available?. Brent Lewis
August 19, 200520 yr Exactly Brent and Victor, SSW still hasn't finished work on their A310. That add-on has been out for over three years now. SSW has terrible support and rarely get's back to users. August 19, 200520 yr This isn't true!I have access to all the information and documentation that it's necessary. We just need somebody that know how to build it. If there is somebody with experience and knowledge I can get it. RegardsJorge
