Thats a new one too
October 29, 201510 yr Commercial Member Actually I'm describing diagnostics and you quoted with no context in an unfair way. The point I was making about highmemfix, was that when we need to use it because we've got wings missing, or only see the wheels of airport vehicles, we know we have reached a certain level of detail in the model. I'm just reading what you wrote, that it is not needed and many problems fixed by it are caused by the developers. I am not being hostile just wondering why I've never read claims like HT is better on and others, that's all. "Since HIGHMEMFIX=1 can cover up problems, it can be left it out of the config and problems fixed another way." I find it hard to believe even running 0% traffic, that you can fly from one addon airport to another in a PMDG 777 and not need highmemfix.
October 29, 201510 yr Commercial Member That's not what i'm saying, I get a lot of FB that those notes help a lot of folk. I'm not going to change anything because you want to mis-interpret it. So why not stick to the discussion. Steve Waite: Engineer at codelegend.com

I appreciate your posts they are very informative and I'm trying out the Nvidia Inspector section right now.
October 29, 201510 yr Commercial Member I appreciate your posts they are very informative OK thanks. But remember if something doesn't work at first, doesn't mean it's useless, there's usually some other reason or circumstances to consider. For example, leaving vsync modes enabled in NI and testing Unlimited to find slow fps. And which seems to amuse you, that is, with many cores or HT enabled, the sim can be compromised without a proper AM. Steve Waite: Engineer at codelegend.com
October 29, 201510 yr Huge increase in FPS performance!! But Mark, what about the primary reason for your original post: scenery blurries? Do you recommend I set 1/2 vsync if I set fps to unlimited, or "force on" if I am using unlimited. and 1/2 vsync if I am setting to 30fps only?
October 29, 201510 yr I would use 1/2 vsync and limit your frames to 30, you should get smooth performance then My youtube channel http://www.youtube.com/c/Dkentflyer

October 30, 201510 yr If the monitor is 60Hz refresh, as 1/2 of that is 30, it's a portion of the refresh frequency. Thanks. Can I setup fps to unlimited and still use 1/2 refresh rate since my monitor is 60hz?

In any case reset your NVidia profile, see top of page: More about using CP, and NI, for DX9, DX10, and DX11 Reset Nvidia settings to default, tested with the following scenario: PMDG 777 at FLyTampa YSSY, ASN real time weather, no traffic, result: 23-24fps. Reconfigured NVI to my preferred settings, result: 23-25fps. No change but still lower than DX9 which nearly touches 30fps under the same conditions
October 30, 201510 yr Commercial Member I've never seen DX9 beat DX10 for performance, unless DX10 is configured with too much AA and SGSS. Also when testing I take care to introduce no randoms, and don't use anything that may introduce different conditions, e.g. real world weather or AI traffic, and time of day. Performance-wise, for me it makes no difference at all if AA is turned on or off unless SGSS comes into play. I've been trying to get DX10 working at least as good as DX9 for a couple of years and never succeeded. Maybe it's just my PC.
