FSX Poor Performance High End PC

Recommended Posts

Phil, SP2/Accel runs amazingly smoothly on my 4GHz 3770K / GTX 770 rig.

I've tried P3D V3.1. and it is not smoother - Kudos to what you guys did 9 years ago,

with Q6600 CPUs and the like.

The only thing I wish I could steal from P3D is fading of Autogen... truly the only thing..

Bert,

Thanks.

We thought it was solid work when we released, it's nice to see it has truly "stood the test of time". And I was honored at the time to have the freedom to make the call on what was "in".

Yes, alpha-fade autogen was on our list, props to the LM team for getting it done.

Phil

It has been a great product from the begining when I ran it on a IBM PCJR.  I only wish Microsoft hadn't abandoned the product.  You guys did an awesome job creating it.

I second that.. also started on a PCJr.

With Orbx scenery, and some of the latest GA aircraft from RealAir, a2a, Carenado...

it has never looked better, and never performed better

I also have Orbx scenery, trees, and vector.  Also have the Duke, PMDG and others, and fly a lot on vatsim.  Have you tried SDREAMTEAM - GSX GROUND SERVICES.  It makes being on the ground fun.  DRZEWIECKI DESIGN - NEW YORK CITY X V2 and his Airports around New York are really good, but at times task the system flying at night.

Have a good one....

Bill

FSX does not “alpha-fade” Autogen in the distance. This makes for a discernable “pop” of Autogen objects. SP1 batches objects in a 2 km boundary. This, when coupled with the lack of “alpha-fade”; does make the Autogen “pop” a little more obvious than in RTM. We think it’s a fair tradeoff, though, for the performance gain.

I take it there's no way to increase the batching boundary for autogen on the user's end (eg. CFG file)? Or the distance which autogen is drawn at?
