Recommend this addon to any one, out of 10 i>give it a 14.>>Now I just have to get used to it, Where all the switches are>and stuff, much diffrent than the PMDG 737. >>Well got to go flick some switches.>>>Alot of the stuff in the 767 is similar to the 737, since many Boeing plane models try to share cockpit layouts to some extent. I asked a Boeing test pilot this question at the Avsim forum, about the test pilots being able to go from a 767 to a 777 to 737, ( because I was contemplating buying the Level D 767 after I saw it at the show) and she said that they do it all the time. She told a story about an experiment that they had where they got all the Boeing Test Pilots in a room and flashed up the cockpits on a screen one a time for a second or two. They asked the pilots to identfy each one on a question sheet, by the model of the aircraft. These pilots got quite a few incorrect answers in this experiement which disappointed them , but the Boeing engineers were very happy that the pilots felt that there was so much similarity in the panels, that they became confused. I am finding that there are just a few things that I have to search for in the 767 after flying the 737 for well over a year, but it is getting easier and easier. I make sure I always start from cold and dark, program the FMC, and that speeds up the learning process in my opinion. Level D did a nice presntation at the Avsim Convention and at one point they flashed up a photo of the overhead panel of a real 767-300 and then quickly switched to a picture of their panel and did this several times, going back and forth. The similarity of the Level D to the real panel was excellent. I had stated at the top of this thread , that I had some issues with the clarity and contrast ratio of the Level D Panel. I do not see this on my system at all. Everything looks good and the graphics are excellent, so as a couple of people suggested, it was the fact that the displays that they played the 767 on , where apparently sub par.

Thats alot of interresting information. I think why I feel a little out of place is probably becasue the way the switches are(Hope you understand what I mean LOL). I cant wait to get my Type rating on this bird LOL. Well just finished printing the tutorial and going to go give it a shot.

BobWith respect, if we all adopted the attitude of standing behind other buyers, nothing would be sold!!BUY IT it will really make your W/E - trust me I'm not a doctor!Bob Wright

Just found this, this morning. If you have Fs Navigator as I do, there is now a download that allows FS Nav to export directly to level D. http://www.fsnavigator.com/download.htm

Hi BobGreat to see you are enjoying the 767. I don't know if I met you or not at the convention, but I am sure glad you decided to give the 67 a go. Enjoy the flights and remember, you can set up the cockpit and save the scenerio (Air conditioners working). Then using the Level-D menu, set it as your default set up for the LDS aircraft. Then each time you select the 767, the scenerio will be displayed. PM me in the LVD support forum and I'll send you the senerio I use for a Gate turn around. Cheers!

All the best!

Your not going to see a whole lot on the tech. support forum except people who ARE having problems. That goes for all tech. support forums. Yout not going to see, "Wow....I have no problems, this is great!" in any tech support forum (There may be a few, but you get my point). Add-on software does work for the vast majority of us. If Level-D's 767 turned out to be a flop, we would have all known about it a long time ago. I understand that your annoyed at not being able to access the forum, so, my advise to you is simply don't buy it. But, I bet, regardless of what you've said in this tread you'll buy it. Common sense tells (most of) us that it's great product.-=MAB=-

MAB,I can tell you right now that this is one product I will NEVER purchase. No thanks. I save my hard earned quid for programs and companies that respect their customers. Yes, the forum restrict IMHO is a slap to the average consumer who just wants to get a heads up before shelling some dough and spending vast amounts of time dealing with problems. My recommend. . .stay with PMDG!Gary Hawk

Hi Gary,There are many reasons for the forum policy. Some of them have NOTHING to do with piracy.Servers are resource dependent. There are thousands of members in the Level-D forums. Viewing for some forums does not require ANY membership. One goal is to supply the best service possible for the purchasing customer. Having the support area as it is helps the members get their information faster. The support area contains many things including photos and other elements that do take bandwidth, and server processor space. And both of these are not unlimited resources and cost money! Every image viewed has a price tag.But anyway, having the member areas not competing with other non-member traffic helps to keep everything as smooth as possible and hopefully makes the purchasers experience that much better.Posters are welcome to post in the public area, or this forum, and ask "what are the main issues in the product?". Some may say none, some may say a few, or you can ask how a particular feature or systems is. You would likely not be ignored.

Thanks,

I find it ironic your handle is 767simfan....but claim you'll never purchase Level'D's 767...maybe it's just me, brought a chuckle.I too drive PMDG's products, they are outstanding. But there is no comparison between Level-D 767 and PMDG's 737 product line. I have a feeling you have, or will, purchase Level-D's product regardless of what you type here on the forum. I'll bet my paycheck >90% of the 'serious' simmers out there have and/or will purchase Level-D's product. Like another forum memeber said earlier, it has a 30 day return policy, nothing to loose, only a great product to gain. Also, as someone has allready pointed out, there are several reasons for restricting the tech. support forum.-=MAB=-

Mike Brown

I can't believe I'm hearing this. There are good reasons for restricting forum access to users only, but not many companies could pull it off. This aircraft has been discussed so much on these boards that it's a no brainer figuring out whether or not most people who have bought it are happy with it. Yes, there are some companies that warrant a close look at the user forums before a purchase, but LDS is not one of them. To make a decision on principle when the logic that is used to arrive at the principle is faulty--i.e. you need to look at the user forums to get enough information to judge a product--prevents you from enjoying one of the best airliner sims available anywhere. And this is before you consider the fact that there is a 30 day money back guarantee. Do yourself a favor. Buy it, give it a try, and if you don't like it--based on what you think, not what other users think--get a refund. I bet you won't.billg

The SUPPORT FORUM for Level-D Simulations products: http://www.leveldsim.com/forums

LVLDF1.gif

DELETED and now banned.

One of the things I like to do prior to purchasing a new payware product is to visit the forum on the product, if there is one, and see if there are any issues cropping up and how people like the product. Up until now, mos products that I have purchased have had some kind of a forum that I could use to research the product. I also like to see if problems are addressed by company that sold the product on the forum. This evening I went to the Level D tech forum and I see that you can't even read any of the posts unless you buy the product. This is the first time I have run into this, and I am wondering why they apparently want to keep people from reading the forum unless they have already purchased the aircraft. I was considering buying this aircraft, but to be quite honest, be blocked from seeing what owners of it are experiencing and posting, is kind of a turn off.
