March 2, 201610 yr And this is the reason why x-plane developers can offer us unfinished / beta products and we suck it up Developers for all platforms offer us unfinished beta products. They just aren't up front about it. I threw my ten bucks in on the chance that it turns out to be what we've been looking for for X-Plane.
March 3, 201610 yr And this is the reason why x-plane developers can offer us unfinished / beta products and we suck it up. In my opinion it's better to wait to see how this project progresses and pay the full price later if indeed it turns out to be the add-on of the year. I don't know if you're on Steam but this is not uncommon. Small investment at a lower cost for helping in development costs. In fact I was given a coupon on the purchase for 1/2 off. You can also give feedback. Now the purchase gives you the full functioning ATC and a lot of other goodies - loading of text flight plans you can make plan through various flight planners like Routefinder, a radar screen, etc. EVEN in its present state it is miles ahead of World Traffic. Hopefully we'll see the development moving forward for: - more liveries specific to the airports - real world flight plans It is the only AI traffic program, right out of the "box" which immediately has given me a satisfactory solution to the huge hole in X-Plane related to traffic AI. As close (even in its present state of progression) to MyTraffic/Traffic 360/UltimateTraffic for FSX/P3D. Obviously still a ways to go to equal those robust packages but it's a very good start. March 3, 201610 yr X-Life is one of the best addons ever for X-Plane.Well, if it only works for a limited and specific range of airports, then for me at least, it is totally useless. It has to work at ANY airport. I fly a lot in Australia and SE Asia - unless it works in these locations, then it is useless (to me). But since this is the development phase, I am watching it with great anticipation. I've been simming for years. I have stayed away from X-Plane because of its absolutely pathetic traffic AI and ATC. I tried World Traffic and without trying to be a jerk this was completely useless as you had to make ground routes for your planes...well I won't bore you and it's complete inadequacies (I spent hours using xplane mapeditor painstainkingly tracing ground routes for one airport and eventually gave up). First time I popped this in (the freeware version) with my JarD 330 at EDDL hit the button and wow the airport became a bustling active place with flights departing and arriving, taxing to their gates. The traffic density completely controllable. Arriving at LFBO, active taxiways, flights leaving and departing. Let's put it this way. After years of having fantastic traffic AI programs for FSX/P3D MyTraffic and Ultimate Traffic particularly, this was a breath of fresh air. If the developer continues on this path he will deserve a huge pat on the back and every bit of business should come his way. Ryzen 7 5800x, 64gb, 7900XTX 24gb
March 3, 201610 yr Commercial Member I have to agree, this is a winner as is. Paul Grubich 2017 - Professional texture artist painting virtual aircraft I love. Be sure to check out my aged cockpits for the A2A B-377, B-17 and Connie at Flightsim.com and Avsim library
March 3, 201610 yr I tried World Traffic and without trying to be a jerk this was completely useless as you had to make ground routes for your planes...I agree. I bought it, and still cannot set it up. Well, I went to great effort to setup 2 airports, but even there it is marginal at best. Like many, I surmise, I just gave up. If this system can generate traffic ANYWHERE, it will be a winner for sure. But while traffic is a nice plus, what I am really looking for is a halfway decent ATC system. As everyone knows, the X-Plane ATC is not even worth considering. I have been looking at EasyATC (my current favourite) or 124thATC64. It is still early days for both of these systems, but I am hopeful. Should be some videos on how it operates. It's not bad at all. Much better than stock ATC as it has a number of included features such as a radar and other small additions. The developer is refining and improving though..I've also purchased their FM car and very nice Ground Handling service. Ryzen 7 5800x, 64gb, 7900XTX 24gb

By the way the airports are growing. Visit the forum X-Life http://jardesign.org/forum/viewforum.php?id=33. You copy the airport file into the X-Life airport folder. That simple. I notice they have ZBAA for Beijing and YSSY for Sydney Australia since you mentioned SE Asia and Australia. Ryzen 7 5800x, 64gb, 7900XTX 24gb
March 3, 201610 yr Have you tried "Pilot2ATC"? http://pilot2atc.com/AboutI did - way back. I see that a new V2 is about to be released. It is pretty expensive, but it does look pretty good. I notice they have ZBAA for Beijing and YSSY for Sydney Australia since you mentioned SE Asia and Australia.I understood that you also had to generate taxi ways? This is the same problem that World Traffic has - and it is just not practical unless you just happen to fly in a very popular area. But since Sydney is out - that does make it more interesting for me. I will certainly check it out. I tried to go to the purchase page on the website - but it does not seem to be active just yet. Are they putting the paid version on hold for the time being? March 4, 201610 yr Is this limited to just voice transmission? Or will it accept keyboard transmission? Lots of nice features. It will have a SayIt function. This brings up a text line of what you are supposed to say to ATC. You can either read that back, or let the computer SayIt for you. This is just what I want - I am trying to learn the proper ATC communications, and if nothing else, this is teaching the user what to say. Seems a top feature.
