Does the error message present itself when you start Prepar3D or shut it down

Does the "Active=True" statement need to be below the "Path=SimObjects" statement, or does it not make a difference? That is the case with all of those entries in my own SimObjects.cfg file.

You had the migration tool Installed originally yes?  Have you Uninstalled it? 

 

 

Go here   Local Disk (C:) ► Users ► you ► AppData ► Roaming ► Lockheed Martin ► Prepar3D   and move your exe.xml and dll.xml file out of there altogether and onto your desktop.

 

Start Prepar3D and see if the error message goes away,  If it does,  There is an entry in one of them files that we will have to look at  

 

Do that and come back

You would know as much as me,  But my understanding of it is  Once you have the first, you can have the other 4 lines in what ever order you want

I did not uninstall migration tool no, just have it disabled.

The UT2 Entry in your exe.xml file looks good,  Move your exe.xml file back into AppData\Roaming.  Don't touch the UT2 control panel,   Start Prepar3D and listen for the music,  Confirm for me that when you start prepar3D UT2 will launch with it,  You will know when you hear the music.  You wont see any planes just yet though

Ok. At this point I just want to mention that right now before writing this post and re-adding exe.xml,

When I wrote the previous quote I could hear the music.

Ok. So I just added my exe.xml back into its original folder. I still get the music, but now the warning message popped up again.

Funny enough, I now get two "Warning!" messages when I start P3D; two songs as well, one only slightly later than the other. (Both same exact message)

Ok,  Right Click on your exe.xml file and Click Copy,  Paste\Save it somewhere on your desktop or another folder.

 

Open up your exe.xml file in AppDat\Roaming,  Open with\Notepad  Delete everything inside it.  

 

Copy and Paste this into it, i have altered it to suite you,   Click save.  By doing this you are isolating everything except UT2 

 

Check that.  Do you get the error message or music or both ?

This is the error yes?  I have often tried to replicate this error but i could never figure out what causes it.

Located here  Prepar3D v3 ► redist ► Interface.  Click into each one, Click into lib.  Right Click and Install them all  (6 i think)

Thank you very much for defining this whole process and providing so much detailed help.  I'm going to ask you for more help; however. 

I am running 3.3.5 on Win 10 14367. 

 

P3D is installed on Drive G, a non-bootable SSD, in Program Files (x86)\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3.  I've set security for both this folder and the AppData\Roaming\Flight One folder to allow everyone access.

 

I have downloaded UT2 version 2.09. 

 

I have carefully (I hope) followed your process and have hit a snag trying to open the control panel.  When I execute it as Admin, the splash screen comes up and cycles through its startup process, it then shows "Ready...", and  then simply terminates.  No error messages, AppCrash does not see it, and Resource Monitor shows it as terminated.  I'm basically stuck here.

 

Any suggestions are welcome.

Leave the Control Panel aside for a minute 

 

Can you confirm that when you start Prepar3D you hear Music?  Not when you just click on the UltimateTraffic2.exe from inside the Prepar3D folder.  You have to hear the music when you Start Prepar3D ? 

 

Can you also confirm that you see UT2 Planes at an Airport?   It will take a couple of seconds for them to appear

Regarding Ultimate Traffic 2 the whole Program Files (x86) is very tricky 

 

Are you running Prepar3D as administrator 

 

​More importantly are you running UT2 as administrator.   Have you got all of these files in this folder,  specifically the utii.dll file 

 

Go to  Prepar3D v3  ► Flight One Software ► Ultimate Traffic 2 

 

Right Click on UltimateTraffic2.exe and UT2Services,   Click on Properties,  Click Compatibility,  Tick the Box Run this Program as administrator and Click Apply.

Running UT2Services.exe  in windows will give you this screen by the way - which we should not be doing but I did to see what it would do and got that great looking stop sign - oops

What you could Try.........

 

Uninstall and Reinstall UT2 and see if that helps.  If your going to do that.......

 

Turn Off your Antivirus completely

 

Turn off uac completely   User Account Control 

 

Run everything as administrator 

 

Disable the Migration Tool

What you should really do............

 

Uninstall the Migration Tool completely  (It complicates Everything) 

 

Uninstall Prepar3D completely,  Follow this Guide and insure you Delete all 5 folders,  V3.3 now has 2 folders in Documents, delete these as well   http://www.avsim.com...ll-prepar3d-v3/

You will now be changing to a different drive, So Uninstall all 3rd party Prepar3D Software  (Only Uninstall 3rd Party Software that you have Installed into your Main Prepar3D folder)  Everything that Insalls outside the Prepar3D folder can be hooked back up again easily 

 

 

Install Prepar3D anywhere but Not Program Files (x86)  Some people run it no problems but its Not worth the risk.  

 

Click this link,   Its Not a bible or perfect,  but it will give you Some basic hints and tips for Installing 3rd Party software, adding exceptions to your Antivirus software, Ruining as administrator, Extracting zipped folders and and so on.
