Ultimate Traffic 2 Prepar3D v3 & v4

Jack,

Look at your exe.xml file above. The fifth line from the bottom. This is not the same as the adjusted statement that I posted. Please change it to.........

<Path>G:\P3D\Flight One Software\Ultimate Traffic 2\UT2Services.exe<\Path>

You also need to change the "FSX Location=" statement in your UT2Settings.cfg file to......

FSX Location=G:\P3D\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3

Honestly, I can't see a difference, I looked at every last alphanumeric character very closely and they look the same.

I have to go to bed now, guys. I hope that Elaine and I have given you sufficient information to resolve your problem, Jack. If not, I will keep trying tomorrow. Good night!

Ok thanks.

Copy and Paste it in anyway,  you never know

<Path>G:\P3D\Flight One Software\Ultimate Traffic 2\UT2Services.exe<\Path>

Jack,  this is your exe.xml file and Not your dll.xml file Yes??

I literally typed it in by hand and triple checked every last character then saved it.

Yes, the exe.xml

Well, I made the changes Christopher as you said but I think it's the wrong path.

You also need to change the "FSX Location=" statement in your UT2Settings.cfg file to......

FSX Location=G:\P3D\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3

Because look at this screenshot:

I don't even have anything named Lockheed Martin in G:\P3D

27560131091_08efca570a_b.jpg

So I made all these changes and STILL no UT2, AND I lost my Couatl addon menu which I need for FlightBeam's KIAD.

Since you people are going to bed I'm calling it quits too.

I have never left my PC so discouraged after all these hours.

I MUST be doing something wrong and no one's still answered my question about the registry being messed up. :(

Then this:

My Windows Explorer shows this to to be the right path.

27023136314_bd8b3561fe_b.jpg

And does this file look right with the extension on it, the "config"?

27023137164_81d29091b6_b.jpg

And now I have two more problems.

When I run UT2 I get this error box:

27599953356_b58ffcdbf9_z.jpg

Plus, when I try to shut down the PC it tells me something is running in the background but it won't show what it is.

If I cancel and invoke Ctrl+Shift+Del I have nothing populated in the box!

So I shut it down with force quit then rebooted cold and then shut down and it shut down fine.

Elaine and Christopher, I got it to work.

Here's my notes as I went along.

Restored PC to a save from yesterday with Acronis.

Unistalled migration tool per Elaine's instructions.

Rebooted.

Removed all remnants of migration tool.

Ran P3D, good, EZCA & Track IR working.

Rebooted.

Installed UT2 successfully.  Checked all folders were in proper places.

Started UT2 installation following along with Poppet's instructions.

Made copies of all files before modifying and placed them in a folder called UT2 backups.

Opened both fsx.cfg and Prepar3D.cfg and removed the migration notes per Christopher.

Everything was going smoothly till I used Windows Explorer to create a folder when Windows Explorer stopped working.

Rebooted.

Removed all references to SimObjectPaths in fsx.cfg file except for the one that was for UT2.

Did the rest of the tutorial.

Rebooted.

Ran P3D and got the music!!!!

Got AI traffic!!

But then I ran FSX and I got the music and a UT2 Runtime error so I had to close the error box.

Ran FSX anyway, no traffic.

Shut down FSX.

Rebooted.

Ran P3D to check it, it was good.

Took screenshots.

Posting the Runtime error with FSX.

Question, does this mean I will never have UT2 traffic in FSX ever again and I'll always get that run time error?  I'd still like to have FSX with traffic for a while till I get P3D up to speed.

I want to say thank you both so very much for helping me.  You have no Earthly idea how much I appreciate your help.

Next, I need to follow Elaine's guide on installing ESI's IOM and Guernsey.

But, what about FSX and UT2?

Wow, I am so glad that you finally got it working in P3D, Jack! Apologies for giving you an incorrect "FSX Location" statement. I had assumed that you would still have a Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3 folder inside your "P3D" folder, but clearly that isn't the case. Unfortunately, I am not sure what the situation is with UT2 when you have both FSX and P3D installed on the same PC. I dumped FSX altogether when I decided to purchase P3D.

Thanks Christopher.  I wonder if Elaine might know a way to have UT2 in both sims.

I need FSX for a while longer yet and may even keep it.

It's what I need to do for now.

No problem about the incorrect path thing, you were helping me and it's a simple mistake.  It now works so that's what's important.

Spent the day installing and downloading from FSS, too much work for my worn out body.

I plan on adding the schedule next Elaine, I read through your guide and it doesn't seem too difficult.

I wish someone in the know could figure out why I can't have traffic in FSX.

I am loathe to reinstall it and direct it to FSX as it might mess up P3D.

Bu the way, I just installed Orbx's UK, made a flight in A2A's Comanche, with Track IR on, ASN on in a thunderstorm, EZCA, and it was a very short flight.

London City to Heathrow.

My VAS left over was an astonishingly low 991MB.  I might not even have been able to make a return trip.

Could it be sliders?

UT2 is set the same way as FSX.

Thanks for looking and possible answering some of these questions.

London is a seriously dense environment if you have the sliders towards the right, so VAS is pushed even in P3D v3.

Yes,  the Summer scheduled does add a nice variety of different planes alright.

I'm afraid FSX wouldn't be my strong point Jack

Jack,

Can you post the SimObjectPaths statement section of your fsx.cfg file? The one that you use for FSX itself?

I will as soon as I get home.

I'm having a LOT of errors being shown in my FSUIPC log.

Can I post it?

Elaine could you read it and understand it or Christopher?
