Ultimate Traffic 2 Prepar3D v3 & v4

I don't plan doing anything Elaine until you tell me to.  I have been following along precisely as you and Christopher have recommended.

What screen shots might you need?

Ok, first I just made a copy of Prepar3d.exe, save it to the desktop, renamed it to fsx.exe and placed it in the main P3D folder.

Ran P3D, still nothing.

So now I'm having a look at all the files as described in your post in the beginning.

I'll start with this one, the simobjects.cfg

I just went over everything from the very beginning.  The only thing I needed to add was the line SimObjectpaths.0SimObjects\UT2 Aircraft.

Ran P3D and it still won't run.

I'm baffled.

The statement SimObjectPaths.0=SimObjects\UT2 Aircraft should be in your Prepar3D.cfg file. The entry in your SimObjects.cfg file should be....

[Entry.10]

Path=SimObjects\UT2 Aircraft

Required=True

Active=True

I will try this now.

I made that entry in the Prepar3D.cfg file, saved it and ran P3D.

Still no music, no menu, no planes.

Then I swapped out the xml.exe file with Elaine's and still nothing.

I am pulling my hair out.

Why is it so many other people can get this to work?

Now that I have Flickr up I can send any screenshots you like.

I type all this on a Mac and then go test it out on the other half of the room there the flight sim PC is.

I use it only for flight sim, I don't use it for mail or surf.  I only go online when I need to update an Orbx.

Please don't say we've reached the end as I really have to have UT2, I've been using it for years now and the sim isn't worth flying without it.

I'll ask again because no one seems to be answering, could the registry be messed or could it not be messed up?

Someone, anyone please answer that for me?

Ok Jack, Can you confirm this......

I see your P3D on your G Drive now  But When you click into your into that P3D folder does it bring you directly into your Prepar3D folder or do you have to click into another folder before you see all your Prepar3D yellow folders.

In other words is there another folder between your P3D and your Flight one Software folder.

Because if there is,  this would cause your exe.xml not to find UT2

Actually take a screen shot of your version...

Like this,  Take a screen shot and post it,  I want to look at your Path folder structure

Will do, it'll take me a few minutes as I have to upload it to Flickr…

Darn,  You folder path seems to match your exe.xml file.

Ok Jack, 2 more things

(1)  Give me a screen shoot of the inside of your flight One software folder  (located in your Prepar3D folder)

(2) Copy and Paste your exe.xml file again as it stands now.

Why do you have all of those SimObjectPaths statements in your Prepar3D.cfg file? In addition, two of them are defined as ".0", which is clearly incorrect. You should only have one statement of this type in your Prepar3D.cfg file, and it should be SimObjectPaths.0=SimObjects\UT2 Aircraft

Dunno.

What should I do?

Jack Sawyer

Delete all of them apart from the one I mentioned above.

<Path>G:\\P3D\Flight One Software\Ultimate Traffic

This statement in your exe.xml file should be........

<Path>G:\P3D\Flight One Software\Ultimate Traffic 2\UT2Services.exe<\Path>

You seem to have two "\" before "P3D" in your exe.xml file where there should only be one.

Delete all the SimObjects and their paths?

0-9 and everything?

I'll remove the extra dash.

Jack Sawyer

Delete all the SimObjectPaths statements apart from the last one. Please note the amendment I made to my post about your exe.xml file. This could be crucial!

In both the fsx.cfg and the Prepar3D.cfg?

Or just the P3D one?

Jack Sawyer

Only the P3D one. I assume that the fsx.cfg file is for FSX?

I'm afraid Christopher, you could put 10 of these in the path \\\\\\\\\\\  and it will still work
