I do still fly the departures myself until I'm at cruise altitude and the decents and stars myself. I just hit VNAV and LNAV without the autopilot on and fly the needles until cruise then hit the autopilot. It's a lot of fun and I'm still a hand flyer at heart but I've learn to love the FMS too.

If I ever get a new computer, if I then get FS9, the first payware aircraft I'm going to get will be this 727. Until my old comp died on Sat the DF B734 was one of my favourite aircraft. I've been using it since FS2K. A great plane and real value for money. As I know the 727 will be.Yours impatiently ;-)Gavin

Over 10 years here and AVSIM is still my favourite FS site :-)

I really really really (did I mention really?) want the DF727. Unfortunately, the ol' pocketbook just doesn't allow it right now. But someday, I'll get it. Reading all the great posts in this thread just makes me want it that much more.KP

The DF727 has the best panel in the business when it comes to immersion. The photorealistic bmps and the logical layout really contribute to this, in my view (no pun intended), as well as the systems modelling which is very thorough even though I have mustered the courage to perform a full engine start only a couple of times :-violin .Regards,

Hi Clay,I do feel bad about not trying this 727 because I have great faith in DF and Flight One. Unfortunately, with limited time, I focus on the 747-400 and Concorde because they are both out of the ordinary (and have played significant parts in my real world).Had the 727 featured in my life, I guess I would now be as happy with the Flight One model as its other owners seem to be! If DF and Flight One do a 707 or 747 Classic, either would make me re-examine my self-imposed "two airliner only" policy.Best wishes,Michael

On behalf of everyone involved with creating this product, I'd like to say a really big thank you to all the contributors to this thread. Your kind words are very much appreciated by us all.As much as you seem to enjoy the current release, I think the next one should raise a smile or two ;-)http://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...BANNER_PAUL.jpg

Paul,After reading this thread it's convinced me that it is a 'must have' so I will be downloading soon.By the way, the video included (Don't know if its the same one as you use on your web-site?) on a past 'P.C.Pilot' magazine disk dosen't contain any engine sounds, just music which is a shame?Dave T. .........On the lovely warm Devon Riviera and active 'FlightSim User's Group' member at http://www.flightsimgrpuk.free-online.co.uk/

Thanks Dave, I hope you'll enjoy it as much as others seem too.As for the video, that was put together by one of the beta team who just happened to like it that way :-) I think if you do a search in the library (both here and Flightsim) you'll find a few more video uploads, some of which may have sounds.http://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...BANNER_PAUL.jpg

I haven't heard too much about the DF-727, but this thread has gotten me interested. I haven't flown any heavies in MSFS, and I like the idea of one that isn't so automated.Couple of questions, though:* How is performance on moderate systems (compared to other payware offerings)? For the sake of reference, I purchased the Dreamfleet A36 but found it to be too much of a strain on my system to be enjoyable.* How is the VC and gauge movement? Can it be flown entirely from the VC?

Hi Paul,I got it last night. All I can say is WOW!!!!!!!!!!This aircraft is an absolute masterpiece. It is more than I expected it to be.I did a short flight from EGSS-EGTE last night and now I know what people like 'Dillon' say "If it hasn't got a VC I won't be flying it".For the first time ever, I elected to land at Exeter while in the VC and boy oh boy, was it enjoyable? Wonderfully satisfying and a perfect landing bang on the numbers. In conclusion, I would like to thank you for maintaining a realistic price for this (

The VC *can* be hard on framerates in heavy weather, but I have my cloud settings turned up fairly high. There's an option to use lower-res gauges in the VC to speed things up. I don't think you'll have too many problems.>>* How is the VC and gauge movement? Can it be flown entirely>from the VC?Yes, it can be flown entirely from the VC (fully clickable) but the gauge update rate is fairly slow--I've never clocked it but I think it's 2-4 updates per second. For serious IFR work I go back to the 2D panel, especially since that usually means heavy clouds which lower my framerate further. But, for visual approaches, the VC is fantastic; visibility is excellent and the plane flies so well that it's a real treat to shoot a visual approach by hand.Lewis "Moose" GregoryRichmond, Virginia

This has been an interesting thread- it got me too flying this beautiful bird. Has anyone ever installed the Reality XP Garmin GPS (I have the 430) into this bird? If I delete the panel.cfg reference to the default GPS, can I get the RXP GPS to install to the same window?Thanks- the flight dynamics are graet.Bruce.
