April 2, 201610 yr Author Looking Great! It looks better with the W2XP generated OSM data. Just trying to get as much as data , also will be doing VAPO airport also has the Air Force base with Su-20MKI where I have lived for a few years and I have seen the jets doing there stuff and it was loud way back in the '90s. This is the air force station that I was not accepted due to a non-technical background. Damn they wanted engineering and maths . Not exactly an airmen recruitment center but I knew someone from the radar. Don't how the Pune area which SE of Mumbai would would look with OSM. But hopefully it is good and I get the time to generate it. Ryzen 5 1600x - 16GB DDR4 - RTX 3050 8GB - MSI Gaming Plus
April 3, 201610 yr Moderator Damn they wanted engineering and maths I hated maths in school and I didn't think it was important (I mean why would I need differential equations, algebra or trigonometry in real-life??). Turned out later that yes I do need it and a large amount of professions require it (even ones seemingly unrelated). e.g. There are so many areas in programming (3D games, simulations, physics, certain algorithms) that if you don't know maths you're basically left out on the door step, even basic tutorials on the subject often delve into the mathematics.
April 3, 201610 yr I'm hated math in early highschool, but I really got into it... I am actually a mathematician, with a couple of degrees in Computer Science and AI, working in the modeling area ( weather ), and really regreting not having learned enough engineering to get a better understanding of flight dynamics... I read a lot about that area, but there are many aspects I would certainly assimilate a lot more easily should I have dedicated some time to engineering.... Math is allover the place. India has a great tradition in producing superb mathematicians Zulfi! You're probably a reincarnation of one of them :-) - that would explain it all.... hihihihi ...... April 3, 201610 yr Moderator Never knew 3d and [programming required maths. I've spoken to a few people who wanted to get into game development. 3D modelling/texturing itself doesn't require mathematics or programming skills, but it does still require a lot of skill (patience being one of them). With programming, there are many game engines that can be used nowadays that will hide the underlying physics/mathematics behind simpler abstractions and you could probably get quite far with one of these engines, but you'll never really have an understanding of what's going on. IMO, you'll only get so far before you get stuck or need more power, etc.. I am actually a mathematician, with a couple of degrees in Computer Science I very much regret not moving onto higher study of mathematics and physics. I find both subjects fascinating, especially when combined with programming, i.e. the ability to visualise or produce a simulation of something in the real world.

The only programming I ever did was Basic / dbase , but the programs never worked. When I look at the engines like outerra / uniengine it does surprise me how it is done. Well Jose is going to start Maths classes guess your maths will get covered Ryzen 5 1600x - 16GB DDR4 - RTX 3050 8GB - MSI Gaming Plus
April 4, 201610 yr Author Now I am really enjoying flying in my hometown because of the OSM data which is very nice. Ryzen 5 1600x - 16GB DDR4 - RTX 3050 8GB - MSI Gaming Plus

April 4, 201610 yr We need the updated version Zulfi... I'm planning a long haul in my PSX 744, from LPPT to VAPO, using X-Plane 10 for the visuals! :-) I still have to figure out why I was getting trees in the rw in one version you sent me ? Updated version of what ? VAJJ ? VAPO I am not doing right now till I finish VAJJ. BTW VAPO is already available in xplane without any buildings. April 4, 201610 yr Oops, my bad - VAJJ that's what I meant :-) And a 744 can't land there :-) or if it can, it will not takeoff.... Nop, 744 can't land there, but you can land @VABB, its just 2 kliks or some east of VAJJ. It is there @.org Ryzen 5 1600x - 16GB DDR4 - RTX 3050 8GB - MSI Gaming Plus
April 4, 201610 yr Author BTW what 744 are you flying in Xplane ? not that I want a 744 but I don't think it has an external model , is it the default one ? Ryzen 5 1600x - 16GB DDR4 - RTX 3050 8GB - MSI Gaming Plus
April 4, 201610 yr It's just used for the visuals, a modified version of the default United 744 that comes with XView, a plugin that allows for the use of Aerowinx PSX with X-plane 10 for the visuals. But the SSG 744 is a nice 748i add-on for X-Plane 10.
