October 10, 200520 yr Er, no... "flood lights" and "night lighting" are only applicable during nighttime. What Bodo is referring to is the daytime appearance of the 2D panels; and I agree with him completely. The PMDG panels look way too dark and depressing--lacking colour, brightness, and clarity.
October 10, 200520 yr The panel looks great, better than any other 777 panels currently, model is well behind meljet. But like the Airbus panels, if we can merge this panel with the meljet model or the upcoming wilco fleet model, this could work out well, provided PSS offers the right price.Marcus
October 10, 200520 yr Four words..."Don't show shots then".If this is not at all representative of what's to be expected on the final, why would they be showing it at all? I mean, that's like me saying "Oh, this is my upcoming paint, it's alpha, so what you see here is in no WAY SHAPE OR FORM representative of the final product". If that's so, why show shots in the first place? For them to release this, it must be taking shape. If I have doubts about PSS' external model building (which I do), I don't about their business sense, since they've done well so far. I doubt that seeing this thread, they'll leave things untouched. So the purpose of this thread is accomplished, or so I hope.Daniel P.http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/747400.jpgMember of SJU Photography. October 10, 200520 yr Yep, mine is perfectly fine and readable too. I don't get it. As for being "depressing and sad" because the colors aren't lively, the cockpit colors kind of aren't either. I prefer PMDG's approach to the colors for the realism, rather than the oversaturated stuff we get from other developers sometimes. But as we say in Spanish, for tastes and colors... :)Daniel P.http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/747400.jpgMember of SJU Photography. October 10, 200520 yr Judging from the screen shots, I can't justify buying this. Just one of the criteria I have for payware is an accurate model. As a payware developer, they should get it right. I didn't buy the A320 for the same reason. I have nothing against PSS, I feel the same about any company. I'm not only paying for the panel and vc, but the model as well. And I'm not talking about an antennae cluster here. I'm referring to the basic shape of the airplane. If you care to look, check out pictures on airliners.net and see the difference.I realize there are many ways of enjoying the sim, and if some never peek out of the cockpit, God bless'em, that's great. There are also many that do enjoy looking at the exterior model during flight or replays. I would hope that those in the former group would respect that. Expecting everyone to use the sim the same the way is being a little small-minded in my opinion.Cheers,Todd
October 10, 200520 yr The panel looks OK but the black spots on the overhead are a bit annoying, these were also in the 2nd version of the PSS 777 (anyone remember the first version? ahhh, how i loved it)Virtual cockpit is good. The visual model looks terrible. The last thing i bought from PSS was the Airbus range and unfortunately it was an awful waste of money because I could never get satisfaction out of flying any of them. I'd this has potential for use by some people and being prepped for December i'd like to think they'll make a few changes before then.:-)
October 10, 200520 yr Do we get the usually PSS framerate drop too? If I am going to spend money I want it all you know.
October 10, 200520 yr >Wow for 45 buckaroos it better be on the level of Level D and>PMDG.EH!? 45!!! I missed that. Now that IS a bit shocking. They certainly know how to cause havoc in the Avsim community!
October 10, 200520 yr I didn't think my silly question was worth starting a new thread...but. I see that according to their press release that the 777 is *imminent*. Imminent as in:im
October 10, 200520 yr Mike, See, I knew you're guilty of watching too many Star Wars movies. And to think that you compared me with Darth Vader. I'm not nearly that fat!Me thinks the market is getting too saturated with 'hi-tech' additions for FS which do nothing but offer the same old stuff the others offer and the price continues to rise, while the quality seems to go down the septic tank.I have to agree with you, before I spend another $45 for anything, the quality had better be of the LSD or PMDG or DF type, otherwise, my dollars will stay in my bank account.Besides, I've got too darned many aircraft now . . . of which I only fly about 4-5 of them on a regular basis.Best to you and give that little munchkin a hug for me . . .er, and the pond awaits the otherLove ya brother,Clayhttp://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...ers/Dopke01.jpgClayton T. October 10, 200520 yr December is likely the "boxed" version. The d/l version is likely in October. It is probably 45 dollars due to getting a DVD. D/l version would probably be somewhat less than that. Eric

Dopke (Clay)>Major, USAF (retired)>"Drac"I agree with you there; LDS and PMDG have raised the bar so hi for modern complex SIMS others are going to have a hard time even getting close. Dream Fleet with its 727 and GA are quickly opening a gap thats going to be hard to close. feelThere I really like and will enjoy their 737 calssics seriies and as it stands right now if I decide for some odd reason I just have to have a 777 then Ill get theirs even if it isnt as "complex" as the rest it will be of quality.
