The new PSS 777 shots...

Recommended Posts

I wasn't going to get involved in this one but I just have to...ROFLNow keep in mind that I'm a developer saying this.First off: Nothing to do with PSS and the 777 (congrats, BTW to them, and the 2d panel looks great btw and the green night lighting-right on) or any other pending release from anyone, BUT......If somone-ANYONE releases/sends or transmits in any way, any photos, pics, teasers, information, or whatever, of a product they are about to OFFER FOR SALE in ANY PUBLIC FORUM/MEDIA OUTLET, then THEY ARE OPEN to ANY criticism bad and good. YOU ALL need to understand that this is the way the world is. It's that simple. We have gotten way to PC here against and for our commercial vendors. When there is MONEY involved, GET THAT FREEEWARE FEEL GOOD MENTALITY out of your heads. That goes for the developers as well. Payware is a totally different ball game and the devleoper is subject to most of the same implied warranties, creative standards, and technology, as any other business and should be held accountable to the same standards. How would you like if we/OSS released a product for $24.95 USD that was crap and everyone said "oh give them a break--yaddy yadda ya--They do this in there spare time--cry cry". Having said that before we've released our first a/c I'd say we have some pretty high standards to attain and we could likely fall on our aarrsses as well. If we do I want to know about it.having said all this, here's the main point of the whole convo:LET PEOPLE SAY WHAT THE HECK THEY WANT so long as they don't harm anyone or break the stinking law somehow. LET IT ALL OUT FOLKS!! LOLFrequency changed approved, have a good flight, and don't forget to put your gear down.PS: I'll probably buy it as well....looking pretty good! Thanks for the plane.

Oh yeah, 1 more thing folks. have a closer look at those screenies and you'll see some systems modelling in there. Maybe my eyes are getting bad at the rip ole age of 35, but I swore I saw some different page files in one of those EICAS displays.

LET IT ALL OUT? Ok Jeff, sure thing buddy. How about you guys release something in lieu of posting screenshots for last year or more on MCI, etc...Sorry, could not resist.

There ya go. Yeah, KCI's real world airfield has been changing on us almost every month making it very hard for us. We had to take 2 more trips out there recently. Now we've found out that AWE is moving terminals now.

Randy,We've long since explained our slow downs. That's no secret and I've epxlained that we're far from perfect also. We've been just as mad about it and have taken corrective measures. It's also no secret that you're also in everyone else's forums juicing them up as well...ROFL. Yes I check them also. Thanks. My point to the whole thread was to stop supressing others. You can bash us all you want, we don't mind. :-)

I think we've hijacked this thread enough. You can send me an email if you like.

I can't see myself buying another PSS product. They just don't have a shelf life. I would have bought new 777, 747, and A320 to bring them to FS9 standards. This 777 update or whatever you want to call it took way too long. How long has it been since the FS9 release ?Unless I am convinced they are capable and willing to change the way they support their own products I'll never buy from them again.Developers when they release a product(IMHO) should continue to support the franchise, maintain ownwership so to speak. Thanks to those that do, Realair, PMDG, LDS, Aeroworx, etc.Steve

That's exactly what I meant, but apparently Erick doesn't understand that.He does seem to think it's an aircraft spotting simulator.I'm btw not saying we should go back to the days of FS95 with 4 sided engine pods on 8 sided fuselages, but the amount of detail some people seem to think is a fundamental requirement these days is laughable and sadly increasing the cost of addons and the hardware needed to run them to a level which is wholly artificial.

I think we'll soon see the advent (and to a degree this has already happened, even though it wasn't generally accepted by users) of different companies/groups selling/providing different parts which combined together form a complete aircraft package. One sells the panel, another the external model, and a third maybe the flight model.Of course the few experiments in this so far led to customers complaining loudly that they didn't get a complete package and had to pay separately for everything. It would however apeace people like you who find eyecandy more important than functionality as well as pleasing those who consider eyecandy secondary (or simply can't afford the hardware required to drive all that eyecandy).

I look at the terrain to gauge where I am and where I'm going. Weather effects aircraft systems. But I rarely look at the outside of the aircraft and never use virtual cabins yet I'm forced to pay for those in both development time and the large impact on performance they impose on my system.I'd prefer a modular system where I could select to buy a low detail aircraft model with no virtual cabin and a high spec panel and FDE.Saves me money while at every point. I no longer need to worry with

I think its down to what people prefer. I wont buy a plane that doesnt have complex system modelling; I also wont buy a plane with a crap model. Thats what makes PMDG and LDS complete. THeir models are excellent and their system modelling unrivaled. Look at the SSTSIM Concorde, that is a beautiful exterior model with unreal system complexity. Youve got to have both now or youre not going to make it.
