Couatl error yet again

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

lately i had a reinstall of v3.1 and subsequent an update to 3.2. I was just about to reinstall all my FSDT and Flightbeam sceneries when i encounter a strange Couatl error. I already asked for help over œ FSDT. Unfortunately Umberto wasnt able to help me albeit he tried hard.

Now i as you folks out there for some ideas. Below you find the error log of couatl and the messages that appear. I did installs and uninstalls of the sceneries i installed the stand alone addon manager several times and so on. Installed the simconnects and uninstalled them. No luck. Last solution would be to reinstall v3.2. In v2.5 everything works fine. Now time to check the log, which btw always looks different. Even if the scenery is installed i get these kind of errors.

Many thanks in advance...

MJ - Have you tried this?

Start P3D (any scenario, any aircraft, any weather, any location ). When P3D puts you on the runway (or whichever Gate you selected), at the default screen - then left click Add-ons from the Menu Bar ..... scroll down and select Couatl Live Update .... select 'Check Live Update'. Select an option to install or re-install and then follow the prompt to restart Couatl..

Should do the trick.

Have you tried this: http://www.fsdreamteam.com/forum/index.php?topic=12344.0

The correct simmconnect versions must be installed.

Then, if the error message is still there, try this:

1. Make sure that there are no double entries of Addon Manager and couatl.exe in dll.xml and exe.xml in the respective folders in user name\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3 and ProgramData folders\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3.

2. Also make sure that all entries for the Addon Manager and couatl.exe are present in the dll.xml and exe.xml of the ProgramData folder (and not AppData\Roaming...).

3. The entry of the Addon Manager should be listed first in the dll.xml which is due to different simmconnect versions that other addons use. Also place couatl.exe on top in exe.xml

If it still does not work, try to disable all other addons from loading (dll.xml and exe.xml), and see whether you still get the error message.

Chris

Im goin to try this as well. I´ll report back. Umberto suspects something specific to my system and P3Dv3.2. I will disable all other add ons within the dll and exe.xml. I´ll see what happens.

Thank you for your help!

Hi guys,

first of all many thanks for your support. I solved the problem. Solution was to un/reinstall P3D as non of the suggestion from you guys nor from Umberto didnt work out.

What was the problem?:

Few weeks ago i did an uninstall of v3.0. I then installed v3.1 in a different location other than default E:\program files(x86)\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3. I installed it in to  E:\program files(x86)\Prepar3D v3 as there has been some files i couldnt delet in the old folder.

Now P3Dv3.2 is freshly installed into its default folder structure. I just installed FBs KDEN no other add on for now. Test was successful. No errors no hick ups.

The problem is solved!!!

Yep, i would have guessed that it was a pesky folder left behind that is easy to forget to delete.  There are quite a few posts around the net about proper uninstall procedures of P3D (not to mention P3D has a good guide on that too).  Uninstalling from the Windows feature isn't enough, as it loves to leave folders behind.  Good to hear you got it sorted and it was rather simple, right? :)
