  • I've tried both X Plane and seen videos of DTG Flight school, and I will keep my 32 bit P3D....

  • I'm gladly serving them as a tester .    Kind regards, Michael

  • Agreed Michael - don't mind it one little bit.     Vic

How do you know they can't?  Military or airline customers have no issues with VAS or FPS because they don't install a lot of 3rd party add-ons.

haha, yes you're right, i didn't know that. i guess that's why it would have been my first question

the majority of the videos i've seen have been pretty, but at 30fps.. and in slow moving planes or helis for showing off the scenery. i just googled around now and found a few at 1080p60 on youtube that are pretty impressive, although they didn't include the takeoff/landing..

There are two sides to the coin, perhaps it would be wise to inquire on the other side of the coin (3rd party) as to why 3rd party vendors are providing products that have a significant impact on FPS?  It's a double edge sword.

yeah. it is interesting that some developers have managed to really squeeze extra frames out of things (on fsx and p3d both) with various coding ninja stuff, but i feel like these types of optimizations should be something that is accessible to any developer. if bypassing the native gauge or flight model code is the best way to do it, maybe that points to a place in the engine that could be examined.

cheers,
