One word for that: Useless.

I want to fly, not to play Far Cry.

I am somewhat of the opposite opinion here.  I think that SOME interior structure adds to the immersion factor when sitting at a gate.  It may be empty of people inside (late at night some terminals are almost empty) but gate counters, interior columns, waiting area seats, etc make the terminal look more real to me than a window with a fake interior image.  As long as it's negligible in terms of a performance hit I don't mind it.  As always, the option to turn off those kinds of features allows the best of both worlds.

Never really thought about this issue but I suspect this development is taking a longer term view into account.. i.e the future of getting out of the plane and walking around as being a standard part of a sim experience.

In the interim like others say, have an off / on switch for it..

Personally having a few 3D interior objects viewable though windows from the tarmac, just makes the terminal more realistic than an obvious image rendered onto a flat wall..

Each to their own but I couldnt care less about whats going on inside the terminals. For me its a complete waste of resources, both computerwise and developerwise. What I care about is smooth and stutterfree flight. The poll seem to indicate that the majority think like this.

In fact I wish there would be more developers focusing on creating larger areas with scenery and airports. Instead of a development team spending all their time on getting every single detail on a specific airport correct, I wish more would focus on creating plausible or reasonably realistic renditions of airports and scenery areas (similar to the ORBX regions but perhaps in a smaller scale). Spend a third of the time on each airport and instead give me 3 airports for the price of one, so to speak.

If I want to see the inside of an terminal, I can go to the next airport as a passenger/visitor and watch. It is the cockpit I am not able to see myself, it is flying planes I am not able to do myself, so, no, I do not care about such things in sceneries at all :P

Waste of time, effort, space, vas etc etc.

The next step is lots of walking passengers inside the terminal in 4096x4096 Texture size.

Of coarse with seasonal clothing.

I wonder if the toilets have toilet paper and running water ....

Perhaps they are using it commercially as a security trainer...   training isn't always fun.  And although we are allowed to purchase it and use it for personal use, it's primary use is training not gaming.
