Norway while it's light.

Featured Replies

Flight for Saturday 16th July. Very similar to the one I prematurely posted under the heading 'Saturday Looms'.

Small amendment to the route to include Sandane as well as Notodden

which requires Orbx Norway(surprise, surprise) to be installed. Orbx do shoot themselves in the foot sometimes.

New flight plan -> HERE

New start time is 05.30 local when all the Trolls and other creatures of the night will have retired to their burrows.

A brief narrative. Norway is in Scandinavia,  Europe. But is clever enough not to be in Europe! They still have their own currency and a say in how their country is run and can vote out useless politicians. :good:

It's dark and snowy in winter and light and sunny in summer.

Oh and they speak Norwegian.

Not to mention they "gave our boys a helluva beating!" But who doesn't? (that's a football thing(soccer, if you must)

"I can see the light!"  Looks terrific.

Last Saturday's photos turned out like poop. (except the one below) My vid cards were working overtime with all those different aircraft paints, plenty of texture corruption - didn't hear anything from me did ya? Of the good ones I will add to this Saturday's run.

Thanks Mike! for that awesome write up - SEA

As y'all know I was late for the "Saturday Soiree" - Priorities 'n all.  If interested, photos, a crappy video & my flight path.

We are now famous

BTW - You guys are flying the wrong aircraft! LOL Not going to miss this!

Taken with stock FSX weather, stock textures & the vid card at 8 bit.  Have a good day gents.

The interior shot of the Fairchild N232E. (12 of 43)  A little Google dragged up this:

Narrative:
The airplane ground looped while on the landing roll. The pilot was attempting a three-point landing with full flaps. Upon touchdown, the airplane encountered a gust of wind. The right wing of the airplane rose, resulting in the airplane veering to the left. As the airplane continued down the runway, the right main gear separated, which resulted in the propeller blades and left main gear simultaneously breaking away. The airplane ground looped, turning 180 degrees. The pilot reported no preimpact mechanical malfunctions or failures with the airplane.

Cause:
The pilot's failure to maintain directional control and inadequate compensation for gusty wind conditions, which resulted in a ground loop and collision with the runway.

Ouch!

Note1: Roman, was that Mickey Rooney, your pilot?

Note2: Yay We beat the PMDG 747 forum! :yahoo:

Note3: Great picture Roman but I'm NOT fooled. That is Opus weather.

Note4: Using Google translate will only incur the wrath of our many Norwegian fans.

If that's Opus weather, I'm switching!

Any recommendations for an aircraft for our Nordic sojourn, Ron?

Ron,

Yes, it is that Fairchild. Bummer huh? She's also for sale, the owner of the beech 18 is extremely interested in it. That would increase his hangar collection to 4 adding to his Beech18, '55 C170 & Aviat Husky on floats.

Mickey Rooney - Never noticed that, but YES, he sure does!

I've been pondering that myself Stew. I think I'm going to plump for an RV7. Yep, an RV7, but which one.

For those who don't follow football ("soccer"), or who are fortunate enough to not follow the England team, this is what Ron is talking about:

Thanks for the flight plan Ron! Looking forward to it.

No Orbx Norway here... may look in on the beginning of the flight and bail out

when the "missing airports" get to me..

Edit: Just checked out the airports and they are all there..

Bert

It looks like Josh might be showing & with a RA legacy.

Do you want to be a guinea pig??

I uploaded the Legacy Spoof for Multiplayer if you want to try.

Sorry didn't know if there would be a Legacy showing.

Quickly made a readme and uploaded, want to do more though.

I wouldn't go by the Saturday night flight page. Josh doesn't go there.

Absolutely priceless Ron! Nearly spilled the ambrosia reading that one!!

Stupidly expensive rig, nonplussed Memsahib, disinterested offspring and a fascinated cat as Rio.  XP11, P3Dv3 and an Oculus Rift.
