X-Plane 10.50 RC1 released

Recommended Posts

Fixed for RC 1:

  • Plane Maker & Desktop PDF manual updates for 1050 (XPD-5840).
  • Fixed water reflection offset in normals (XPD-6484).
  • Fixed goofy use of asymmetric dual window IOS for PFC (XPD-6482).
  • New data refs and version bump (XPD-6409, XPD-6453, XPD-6455).
  • Includes latest King Air with fuel flow fix (XPD-6479).
  • Turned off “fat edges” of click zones in 3-d (XPD-6390).
  • Fixed incorrect width check for AI and static aircraft (XPD-6475).
  • Restored prop datarefs from mobile. Fixes dead prop power knob in ATR-72 (XPD-6420).

My initial impression: Crashes (hangs) between loading AC and scenery.

Interested in finding out exactly what XPD-6479 means...

Have they fixed the FF varying with prop adjustments ?

"Fixed water reflection offset in normals"

Wait, does this mean they finally fixed the distant reflections that seem to be way below the objects / landscape?

That would be great indeed! Those offset reflections have been around for ages...

Well I'll be damned, it appears it has indeed been fixed. I can't tell you how happy that makes me.

Before starting some conspiracy theories about water reflection, why not read what Ben Supnik wrote about that fix (it improves some things, but can't fix everything!):

Conspiracy theories? I don't see any of those.

I looked at some lakes north of swiss Alps, where the reflections where catastrophic, and now they're perfect. We can live with a few exceptions, but this fix is a big one !

Cheers,

Pascal

I'm interested to know what exactly that is...

It's a bug database ID (D=desktop).
