X-Plane 10.50 RC1 released

Featured Replies

Did you figure it out or just quit trying?  I had update problems, but I had renamed the internal X-Plane.exe folder to X-Plane beta and when it updated, it made a new X-Plane folder and it wouldn't start.  Stupid mistake after all these years...

John

I have tried...and tried...this new system is totally screwed up...

After ten tries...just gave up.

I keep getting the server is not responding normally, will try again in 20 seconds...and this #**#@  message just keeps repeating, with nothing from their severs getting downloaded.

I had a beta copy, that I used for testing...and the CD ROM downloader totally BORKED the installation. I had to delete it.

I'm going back to .45 and be done with it.

Post Edit:  It took 20 seconds to download .45 and install. Back to it...and it looks great.

It's been announced long ago that the installer on the disc is outdated and can't be used to update nowadays.

  • Well I'll be damned, it appears it has indeed been fixed. I can't tell you how happy that makes me.

  • almost. should be in 24-48 hours

Get a new installer from the devs here http://www.x-plane.com/downloads/x-plane_10_installer-updater/

Just updated. The water reflection mis-alignment that I reported perhaps 2-3 years ago is finally fixed. No more ships that look like they're hovering over the water, or reflections of land that are offset by half a mile etc.

Still not on Steam. Hope I get to try this out this weekend!

Me too. I've been waiting for 10.50 to officially drop on Steam before getting back into XP again.

This stand-alone installer had me up and running with 10:50r1 in about 5 minutes.  It seems you can't use the installer from off of the disc set...at least I could no longer.

Currently giving X-Plane 12.10 a spin on Shadow PC. 10 years with X-Plane now, since 10.20

Still not on Steam. Hope I get to try this out this weekend!

Ben has already stated... "…the odds of it going out on the weekend are zero."

I've been eager to try it out (also a Steam user), but also more eager to update my 50+ Gateway airports. Since I've read that the new WED isn't really ready for primetime yet, and that they'll be doing a 10.51 just for airports, I'm not in as much of a rush.

Ah I hadn't seen that. Damn.

I must have missed that...but glad an updated installer link was posted to this thread.  As stated, took less than 5 minutes... :)
