Windows 10 - Task bar visible

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Noticed this problem recently with the taskbar still being visible when in 'full screen' (borderless mode)

With it, a slight reduction in performance. It has nothing to do with locking the tasbar or visibility in desktop mode as that feature was never turned on or off. It seems like P3d is unable to go into this full screen mode.

Is anyone else getting this and any fix?

Hi Alex.

Reset Windows Explorer.  Open Task Manager (ctrl+alt+del) and under the Processes Tab scroll down to Windows processes. Locate and right-click on Windows Explorer and select Restart. Usually does the trick.

Have you selected "Auto-Hide Taskbar"? Right click on taskbar, properties, you will see the selection there.

Hi there, thank you. I will try this next time I am in the sim!

That feature is irrelevant, it should work without that feature being ticked. Unless windows has changed the operating system

My taskbar is always showing and I prefer it that way..., I just assumed it was a minor difference between W7 and W10.  I used to use it like an EFB and it would bring up my charts, flightplan and manuals.  Do not use now that I have second workstation for those tasks.

I usually just press the windows key when in full screen and the taskbar appears. It's a really great feature of W10.. That is, when it works.

If you find that windows 10 taskbar not hiding then you can always try restarting your computer and see if the problem still exists. If it does, then click on the notification area icon and most of the time, just clicking on this button gets you rid of the problem. If these two steps do not help you out, then let me know. See the solution here https://appuals.com/taskbar-refuses-to-auto-hide-in-windows-10/ as well.
